Building the Right Thing: An Awesome and Practical Guide
It's not often that I find myself reading a non-fiction book almost in a single sitting, but this one was truly exceptional. From the moment I started reading, I was captivated. What sets this book apart is its practicality. It doesn't just offer theoretical advice; it provides actionable insights that you can implement immediately. What's even better is that these insights are backed by real-life company stories, making the content relatable and compelling.Probably among the described practices, my favorite's is the continuous interviewing. The author not only explains the importance of this practice but also provides clear guidance on how to make it happen effectively how it unlocks the discovery of customer needs and desires and helps to come up with assumptions. Awesome book.

Maybe the Best Product Book There Is!?
A fantastic, highly practical framework for modern product discovery, possibly the best product book in my small collection. As Marty Cagan suggested I might in his foreword, I felt as though Teresa was coaching me through the challenges I face at work, and she has an uncanny knack of surfacing the right information just at the moment I want to ask a clarifying question. If you're at the beginning of your product career in particular, I'd highly recommend this book! The chapters are well-structured and digestible enough to refer back to when I need a reminder; the examples and context provided adds significant clarity; and the anti patterns to avoid at the end of each chapter are extremely helpful. I've already bought a second copy for a colleague. The final thing to say is that Teresa closes the book with suggestions for how you might transition towards modern product discovery even in organisations where there is ideological or organisational opposition. Her advice is realistic and empowering. You'd get value for money if you only bought the book for that chapter on its own!

Great, but simple ideas we can all work to implement
Over the years I’ve read a lot of books on Agile and product development and delivery. While a lot of them give you great insights, this was book was probably the first I really enjoyed from start to finish.Lots of simple ideas that can make a huge difference. What I also really liked was how Teresa always linked it back to an example - real or the made up one. This makes a huge difference for me as it puts it in context and how it could actually work, instead of leaving you wondering how this could be applied in the real world. For anyone in product development or in Agile overall, this is a book of immense value. No matter how well you think you are doing , will find out you can do a lot more and better! And I certainly intend to share with a lot of my colleagues.

A must read for all aspiring product managers and seasoned product leaders
If there was one book I would recommend to someone starting out in product management that wanted to get the lay of the land in all things discovery, this would be it.This book is filled with discovery habits theory, but presented in a way that makes it easy to understand and actionable. I’ll certainly be referring back to these techniques as I move forward in my product management career. What particularly impressed me was something that a lot of product books don’t address: how to actually implement these habits if you are not in charge.Whether it’s discovery habits or something else, sometimes companies will already have their own practices that seem impossible to change on a big scale — and that’s okay. Torres describes how the way to make changes is just how you improve a good product — incrementally. By focusing on what you can control (your own work habits), you can make little changes that will eventually have a big impact, while avoiding the stress of thinking you can’t make a difference.Practical tips like these are given throughout her book, which makes it a joy to read and refer back to.

A page-turner and full of practical advice
The book provides a great overview of how to incorporate continuous discovery habits into one's product work, while also providing concrete examples and case studies. There are plenty of things to incorporate into one's own workflow, but its clear writing style is also useful for helping clarify things you may already be implementing. There are diagrams and charts in the book, which I am glad to say were easy to read on a Kindle (which isn't always the case). Particular highlights included the section on opportunity trees, customer interviews, and emphasising the role of partnership and collaboration with your peers and stakeholders. It also does a good job of highlighting the iterative nature that this work requires. A great book, and would recommend it to anyone involved in product work!

A fantastic book that lays out an outcome based discovery/delivery model
Really enjoyed the book particularly because I have been a product practitioner that has been on the outcome vs output journey for a long time. I have read several books (which I recommend) like the Build Trap and Outcomes over Outputs and Torres does a great job of bringing together these ideas and laying them out in a very step by step practical way of implementing these concepts for your particular situation. Her message of continuous discovery is also very powerful and is really foundational for anyone that wants to improve their PM skills and think in terms of Outcomes instead of Outputs.I highly recommend this book!

The most important Product Management book
I just finished reading, and then rereading, Continuous Discovery Habits by Teresa Torres and I truly believe it’s the most important Product Management book I have read to-date. The title in fact sells this book far short of its true value. The real gem is the introduction of the revolutionary construct of outcome-based development. As the Agile Manifesto converted me from preplanning waterfall solutions to iterating with customer feedback and as the MVP converted me from endlessly pursuing perfection to building and releasing just enough product to evaluate whether to persevere or pivot, so too will outcome-based development initiate a conversion in me. Nearly every development endeavor I am aware of has followed output-based development, need-based development, idea-based development, or problem-based development. While it’s good to have a lot of output, features somebody feels they need, cool innovations, or the solutions to peoples’ problems, it’s far more important to build things that help achieve our most desired outcomes.Teresa’s opportunity solution tree turns conventional thinking upside down by first identifying the most desired outcome, then identifying the top opportunity to pursue to reach the outcome, then ideating a large number of solutions to then select the best possible solutions to address the opportunity, all the while recognizing and testing our assumptions.I am so convinced this is the proper approach to development, I’m converting immediately.
