About the Artist Army Of Me was named one of the top unsigned bands in America by Alternative Press, and the article started a barrage of major label interest for the Washington, DC-based band. On the surface, their music could fit snugly into the playlist of any mainstream radio station. The epic guitars and soaring vocals are more reminiscent of early Coldplay and U2 than of quirkily trendy indie pop. Below the surface, however, Army Of Me carries the self-starter scars of one of the hardest working bands in showbiz.

A Terrific Album
Its a shame this album didn't catch fire because its a great piece of work - passionate, sincere, melodic, and a great listen from front to back. I remember these guys from when they were Cactus Patch and this album was really a leap forward in the depth and quality of their work. I wish the band had been able to release a follow up because "Citizen" rarely goes out of my listening rotation.

Great CD
Going Through Changes is definitely my favorite track on the cd. I wish I had caught on to their music earlier.

beautiful, thoughtful rock
Vince Scheuerman's thoughtful, insightful lyrics, bold, honest voice (reminiscent of John Lennon's), and engaging melodies shine front and center in the varied tracks of "Citizen." Combined with Brad Tursi's brilliance and eclecticism on lead guitar, Dennis Manuel's snappy, energetic drumming that gives full play to the lyrical possibilities of cymbals, celestial vocal harmonies, and the lush warm bass carpet under all (currently provided by Conrado Bokoles who is not on this album), the net result is a magical uplifting beauty. One might hear a variety of possible influences, but at the end of the day what comes through is a strong original confident collective voice that might get through to you more than you thought it would at first, as happened to me. Did not expect to become emotionally attached to Citizen but I have! Highly recommended.

Army of Me still great!
What a great band! Vince Scheuerman's voice is smooth but interesting and he plays with phrasing so that the words sound fresh. My favorite song is still "Sally Come Home" from their previous album. I'm really glad they have made it to MTV's #1 music video of the week, they definitely deserve it!

Citizen: Army of Me
I first saw this band perform in Toronto when they opend for Blue October and I was so impressed with their music I bought the earlier "Rise" CD at the concert. This CD is a continuation of the songs on "Rise" and a perfection of them. "Perfect" leads off the album and so far is my favorite song, but truthfully there is not a bad song on the CD. Eminently listen-able!BUY IT!!

Better then expected!
This c.d. envelopes complexity and simplicity in a romantic and gentle harmony that reflects from the singer and the instruments into the listeners mind. Lyrically creative and musically in depth builds every word and breakdown perfectly. The highlihts on the c.d. are "Better Run" "Meet You at the Mouth" and "Still Believe in You". But the whole album carrys on gracefully and completes itself generously.

Great CD!
Just wonderful pure rock with haunting melodies that have the ability to put a smile on your face after even the roughest day. It's excellent and I think Army of Me has now carved out their own unique style. Why this album isn't all over the radio proves (yet again) how corrupt the mainstream music industry is. Do yourself a favor and buy this instant classic.
