Bullying is the Number 2 Epidemic in the US Today! Parents and educators are frustrated that there hasn't been a solution to this problem. Research is now supporting social skills, or social competence training as the missing link in bullying prevention. Cool Kind Kid has been involved with developing social skills and anti-bullying educational materials for many years. We were ahead of the times in supporting social skills training to combat bullying. We have seen changed behavior as kids learn the social skills tools they need to get along with one another. As Cool Kind Kid redefines "cool" for kids, the motivation for bullying is considerably weakened. Kids learn that, "The KIND kid is the COOL kid, not the bully." After numerous focus groups with parents of young children, it became evident to us that there was a need for fun, short, interactive activities for parents to do with their children to help them reject bullying. Over the last year, we have developed these new products to meet this need. Though much of the social skills content remains the same as our educational curricula, the manner in which it is presented is very different. Like our educational curricula, the centerpiece of all these materials is the award-winning Cool Kind Kid music. This music has demonstrated the ability to engage kids as they learn these important tools. These products are designed for parents, or educators, to take individual situations from every day life and help their kids, or students, learn the kind, cool way of being, doing, saying, and behaving.
