CableCreation Internal Mini SAS HD Cable, 3.3FT SFF-8643 to 36Pin SFF-8087, 1M

Used this as part of a RAID controller replacement in an older Dell R series server. The old cables weren't compatible with the new card, but two of these were a perfect match to run between the new card and the drive backplane.

These cables work with the LSI 3961-8i and SAS/SATA backplane in the Silverstone RM21-308 case. Based on reviews I was not positive that it would, but it does.

I purchased these cables to connect my LSI host bus adapter card to the hot swap backplane in my new SilverStone case. These were the perfect length and connected firmly to the ports on either end. Not much more to say other than I haven't had any issues in the 160 days since they were installed.

I bought these to replace another set of cables I purchased for my LSI 9300-8i card to a Dell R620 SAS backplane. The other cables I had worked, but weren't built nearly as well as the CableCreation cables. The CableCreation cables have much heavier wires in the bundle, and just seem much sturdier overall. The old cables I had also seemed to be very sensitive to movement, and would cause iuCRC errors on my ZFS array (Linux) that needed to be corrected with a zpool scrub. Since replacing those cables with these CableCreation cables, I haven't had any issues since. I would highly recommend these for compatible SAS controller to SAS backplane installations

Item worked perfectly on my LSI 12g to my backplate 6g. The only problem I'd say is the clips design make it hard to disconnect from the controller card.

Cables worked perfectly in a Dell R720 with H730P Adapter. No issues, perfect length!

I ordered a total of six cables of this brand. 5 of them have worked perfectly. For one of them I wound up with read and write errors on one of the four drives. I wasted hours troubleshooting my SAS controller, backplane and drive to determine that the cable was the source of the error. I recognize that with any product errors occasionally occur. I may just have received the one in a million that is bad. No way to know for sure. Amazon is sending a replacement, and I will reassess when received.

Good value and safe

Brauchte das Kabel zur Verbindung eines SAS Raidcontrollers mit einem SAS HDD Käfig. Kabel und Stecker wirken qualitativ hochwertig und die Verbindung klappte wunderbar. Bei der Längen-Auswahl gilt zu beachten, dass die 0,5m inkl. Stecker sind, also diese mit einberechnen, pro Seite etwa 3cm. War daher bei mir um etwa 2cm zu kurz und diente nur als Übergangslösung bis das 1m Kabel da war.

Have two of these cables connecting a LSI 9300-8i to an Intel RES2SV240. Was intending to have the Intel card mounted forward in the case, but ended up putting it in a neighbouring PCI slot, so a little bit on the long side. Works perfectly nonetheless.

I've had a bunch of these cables for a while now, and they are still doing their job quite well. No complaints.

All specs match what is listed. Although this is not a right angle SAS 8643 connector, it had sufficient flexibility and stress relief to accommodate my application which did require a somewhat abrupt right angle.
