Dr. Mowll’s book, The ProFast Diet, is so much more than burning fat and reversing Type 2 Diabetes. This book is great for anyone who is looking to upgrade their health and desire to understand and take responsibility for mastering healthy eating and living. Dr. Mowll presents a step-by-step plan to get moving in the right direction and provides suggestions on how to work with your current health providers. He explains in easy-to-understand language the intricate details of losing weight and how each of us is unique in our weight loss journey. His many years of experience as a diabetes educator teaches us that we must all learn from each other as we gain confidence, depth and understanding in controlling our health issues. Dr. Mowll documents his book with heartfelt patient experiences that makes you realize the seriousness of taking care of oneself.

Nice Plan. Would've liked to know beforehand that it's not for me!
As a Type II diabetic with a lot of knowledge (I've been reading about the disease for twenty-plus years now and am in the medical field) and so-so discipline, I was optimistic about this book when it was (quite heavily) advertised to me. For my blood sugar control, a simple diet plan with lots of restrictions and little variety (think "The Four Hour Body") works best. I hoped this book would provide me with a workable motivating plan I could see success from.It was not until about page 100 that Dr. Mowll spelled out who his audience is -- and who it isn't. I am NOT overweight, having horrible blood sugar (and A1C levels, cholesterol levels, blood pressure -- the whole cocktail) but am already at my ideal weight. My most successful eating plan has been shown to be high fat and low carb -- which turns out to be very hard for me to implement because of a dearth of practical materials out there (please just tell me what to eat when and don't expect me to cook...). Dr. Mowll makes it abundantly clear very late in the book that - except for earlier chapters of basic knowledge which is well-written and universal - HE HAS NOTHING TO OFFER ME. This whole book exists only to wrap up in his six-week diet plan which is tailored for obese Type II diabetics and cannot be applied to any other class. Had I known this, I would not have purchased the book and wasted my time re-reading material I've known for years (written entertainingly but nothing new).I have friends and family members who could benefit from this book. I will not recommend it to them, however, because it's the kind of book that's only for those very motivated to make a change. I don't lower my review because it wouldn't work for those who need to lose weight and control blood sugar -- I lower it because I felt misled into buying it in the first place.

Promising diet for blood sugar regulation and better health
I love how Dr. Mowll mixes real life examples, scientific explanations of the whats and hows and clear cut, easy to implement steps to make the Profast Diet work in this book.I have been a client of Dr. Mowll’s for about a year and have gone from a 9.1 A1C to a 6.2 and come off 3 pharmaceuticals for diabetes and am at a half dose for a last one. I am also off my blood pressure medicine, have lost 15+ Lbs., and lost all my unreasonable cravings for sugar and junk. I am very excited to start this diet as the next step in my journey towards reversing diabetes and gaining even better health.

This book is for success in health!
If you are wanting to find a proven way to prevent, improve, or reverse issues with insulin resistance, diabetes type 2, or visceral fat, and lose the necessary fat, while maintaining your muscle mass, not disturb your metabolism, and be able to maintain your new “settling point” post weight/fat reduction, then this book is a great resource for you! Dr. Mowll is an expert in this field, a renown Functional Medicine doctor, and has had many clients follow his advice, that have now reduced medications to some degree, or altogether, and are now in much greater health, for many years to come. He directs you on course setting you up for success, not failure (many have followed similar, but different approaches, but have not been able to maintain the loss over time). He also suggests how important it is to stay above a certain fat percentage, while maintaining brain, and gall bladder support, during this special type of energy restriction eating plan. I’m not so sure other authors have taken that into consideration. Along with the book, there will be a supportive website, and the calculators that he mentions in the book are supported online (they are so helpful and cut out some time and work to figure protein, carb, fat, and fiber food to energy figures)! This book is the real deal; I’m so excited to choose the pace I want to proceed at, for my individual needs. There are 3 paces and approaches. I congratulate him with the release of his book and am grateful for all the advice Dr. Mowll instills in his followers to reach better health for longevity! This is so much more than your primary care or endocrinologist may ever advise!

See results quickly with The PROFAST DIET!
The PROFAST DIET offers a clear path to quickly burn fat and reverse insulin resistance. The entire book is very readable and the diet is backed by science and Dr Mowll’s extensive experience as a Certified Master Diabetes Educator. I have followed Dr Mowll’s online educational programs for two years and recently started working directly with his Center and I am achieving unprecedented results in reducing my blood sugar numbers and burning fat. Now I’m ready to take the next step with the PROFAST DIET. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is Pre-diabetic or Type 2.

Rapid, Healthy Weight Loss
This is a great book to enable anyone who wants to lose that stubborn mid-section body fat! Dr. Mowll’s approach to managing Type 2 diabetes is effective and ensures improved health as you lose weight. He is an expert in nutrition and metabolism. Not only does he provide a great deal of basic supporting information, he also guides you step-by-step to successfully implement this program. I recommend it for all Type 2s, but also for anyone who has hit that weight loss plateau and is still trying to trim down around their mid section, especially around the waistline and within the liver and pancreas. Each page packs the best scientific research available to combat the consequences of insulin resistance and systemic inflammation.

Fantastic book that explains Type 2 diabetes in great detail. Easy to read.
I’ve read numerous books on diabetes including Ivor Cummings and Jason Fung - both of those authors are excellent but this latest book is my favourite and for me, the most inspiring. This is the one I will follow to reverse my T2 and get me off meds for good.
