A PACK OF LIES GATHERED USING DECEPTION
There are quotes in this book that were private comments I made during what I thought was a private conversation with a member of the 12 step group spoken of in this book, Prostitutes Anonymous. There is also another private conversation between the author and another member of this group made to her during what we each thought was a private personal conversation not said for the purposes of publishing, and printed without our consent. There are huge sections in here of a draft of the book we were working on for Prostitutes Anonymous' Recovery Guide also which hadn't even been finalized by us for publishing yet she's reprinted here as gospel. Not true. She has deeply distorted what our group is about, who we are, what we believe in, and who we are as individuals using information and materials she got from us using deceit. She has profited from this by the sale of this book making her in my opinion no different than a pimp who exploits others and then profits from things he's obtained by deception also of their victims. This book is an agenda - and not about the truth about the sex industry or the sex worker. It's certainly not the truth about Prostitutes Anonymous either. The fallout from this books' twisted perceptions of us was so bad we've had to change the name of our group just to distance ourselves from it and not once has the author apologized for violating our privacy and copyrights this way. I do not recommend reading this book if interested in the truth.

excellent book
I found this book really great. Shannon Bell made a great job. She offers us an overview about constructions and deconstruction of identitity of those involved in sex industry. She starts with hetaires, goes to modernity and than to postmodernity. She analizes various authores, begins whith Plato, continues with Pateman, MacKinnon, Irigary, Rubin and what I valuethe most, she includes also sex workers' perspective. Book includes ideas from rights movement of sex workers and ideas from sex worker feminists like Annie Sprinkle, Scarlot Harlot and others. I can really recommend this book as a good buy.
