Great photo collection. Good text and photo captions.
I thought the book (approximately 150 pages) offers an excellent collection of photos. I have seen hardly any of them in previous books. The book offers separate descriptions of German army winter warfare for the winter periods of 1941, 1942, 1943, and 1944. There are descriptions of field shelters, clothing, ski troops, transport over muddy roads, tanks and half-tracks advancing into combat action, motorcycle reconnaissance units, and horse-drawn wagons and artillery in which the horses died by the thousands from exhaustion and the cold. The text and photo captions provided reasonably good descriptions of the warfare. The text provides only a general discussion of the combat. This is not the sort of book that discusses the various campaigns and battles in any detail. I thought it was interesting that by the 1943 and 1944 winters the German troops probably were the best equipped for the winters they had ever been yet simultaneously the German army was at its weakest because of the huge losses in troops and equipment and the shortages of ammunition.

Does anyone ever check these books before publishing?
About half the photos in the book are distorted to fit them to the pages of the kindle version. Not worth the 99p I paid for it.
