Great hats! I buy these for my employees who work outside all day. The guys thought they were goofy at first but now all of my guys wear them and thank me. This hat is light weight and shades your entire head and most of your shoulders. It folds in half for easy storage. I wait for a sale and scoop up a few more every year.

This hat works really well. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because the folding feature impairs the aesthetic quality of the hat a little bit, so if you are worried about how you look, you might want to find another version of this particular style of sun hat. The hat is designed to fold evenly in half, to make it easier to transport, and this feature is good because it makes it convenient to put in a backpack, and take to the park, or on a hiking trip. However, because it folds, it never fully straightens out when you put it on your head, which means it looks a little funny. I personally don't mind this because I use the hat for gardening, and not to make a fashion statement, and at this price point, this hat has great value. The sun protection on the hat is excellent (50 UPF), and the wide brim makes it so you can work outside, even without the use of sunglasses. I had a sunburn on my neck, so I wore this for a few days, even in the hot, summer, midday sun, and had no problems. My neck healed quickly thanks to the constant shade provided by this hat's long brim. The hat is lightweight and vents well, has adjustable straps for both the chin strap and the crown/headband area, and is reasonably waterproof. It's a great hat overall, the only problem is that the folding feature makes it look a little uneven when you wear it. However, it is excellent for gardening or hiking in sunny weather, and costs less than other hats in this category.

I live in southwest Florida and was at the pool midday some time ago and ended up sunburned on the face and scalp. Bought a couple of hats to wear there and they help a lot. I haven't had sunburn since and also my head feels cooler even in the afternoon. Love that I can wear them in the pool as well and they fit great. Now have 4 or them.

Great fit, holds its shape and protects against the sun. This hat is adjustable, will fit most, and the chin strap helps if it’s windy. The brim is wide provides good sun protection. The price is very good and is a good value.

As others have mentioned, there is a chemical smell to the hats but I don't find it overly offensive. It's possibly from the treatment to make it water repellent.Probably putting it in front of a supply register if you have forced air heating and cooling will help dissipate the smell. I'm going to hang the two I bought in the basement at a forced air register to try to dissipate the smell.The crease through the sides of the hat does look strange when you first look at it but I found that it helps keep the back of the hat down so it covers your neck and if you're out in the rain, it may keep the rain from running down inside your shirt.As for hats of this type blowing off, put the chin strap behind your ears, then under your chin and tighten it to a comfortable position. It won't stop them from blowing around in high winds but it should help in lesser winds.The fit of the hat is very comfortable for me and I'm not much of a hat person but after some skin cancer surgery, I'm doing everything possible to minimize too many recurrances of the cancer. It's a shame I didn't take more precautions 70 years ago.I purchased two of these hats in different colors, a darker one for working in the yard and a lighter on for when I'm out walking and shooting still images and videos.Time will tell how durable the hats are and if there is a problem with the way the chin strap is fastened to the hat.Overall, for the price, I think the hat is fine and would recommend it.

I like this hat because it is large and fits my head and keeps the sun off my face and neck.

The quality of the hat was better than I expected for the price-and brim is wide like I wanted for the sun but the part that sits on your head is HUGE, and trying to adjust it to fit my head (both inner string and outside band) made it bunch up in back and uncomfortable. The brim is very rigid-so when it hits the back of your upper back because it's so big-when you look up-it's annoying. It also came folded- so it looked like a huge taco. I wanted it to work, but will return.
