Expedition Sauce - 3oz Packet Gourmet Travel Hiking Camping Condiment

First of all I keep a micro pepper mill with me at all times - so that's me. The packaging here is very good - flat, screw cap, thick foil yet small footprint. I'll keep one in my backpack with the pepper mill. Great flavor - I did a quick at home comparison (see picture) of two well know sauces - Sriracha and Cholula - both of which I like a lot. You can see the Expedition sauce has a lot more texture to it. The flavor was more vibrant and more complex than the others. Heat was good but not overpowering. It was more of a slow and long heat rather than something hitting you hard immediately and fading away. I'd also use it on a cheese board like I would use a Harissa.

I still plan to use it, but "best by date" on pouch is 8-3-21....5 months before purchase date..

Great taste and I like that it needs no refrigeration! Love it on burgers with black olives and gouda!! (see pic) I also LOVE it mixed half & half with a low-fat Alfredo sauce and drizzled over ravioli (pic).And it makes a delicious Instant Pot chicken tenders dish!Here's my quick IP Expedition Chicken recipe:1.) Lay out frozen chicken tenders (unbreaded) in a single layer on the bottom of the Instant Pot (aka IP).2.) Pour 1 cup of water over the chicken and give a few squirts of Expedition Sauce.3.) Throw in some chopped fresh or frozen onions if desired. *see suggestion to cook a side veggie, in tandem!4.) Then set IP to "Manual" mode for 4 minutes and do a quick pressure release when the IP beeps!*You can also set a steamer basket like this one (EasyVeggie Silicone Steamer with 2 Multipurpose Oven Mitts Bundles for Instant Pot, Pressure cooker, Vegetable Lovers, Healthy-Eaters) on top of the chicken layer and cook some frozen veggies at the same time!All this makes for a delicious product but my reservation is in the metal tube. Mainly because every time I use it, I can feel the metal cracking under my fingers and I'm just waiting for it to leak out the sides / crease lines as I use more of the tube. This hot sauce is delicious. Love the idea of having it in a tube for backpacking. It has great flavor, just the right amount of heat, and has gone great on my Mountain House meals (love it on their Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast and The Mac and Cheese!) and on the Tortilla Trail Pizza I made on my last trip. It will be in my pack every time I hit the trail this summer. Can't wait to see Expedition Sauce expand into more flavors!

Packable hot sauce? Brilliant. And it tastes great!

This stuff turns sad frozen hamburgers or bland scrambled eggs into a treat. A must have for any camping trip. The only condiment you need to bring.

This sauce is lightweight, doesn't require refrigeration and fits perfectly in any backpack or briefcase. I keep taking it on business travels because it will bring flavor to even the dullest egg scrambles.The metal tubing does need a little bit of work though, it tends to crack and clog. But other than that this product is perfect, the sauce has great texture and amazing flavor. I would recommend this to anyone!
