I bought these to use as chip clips... ya know where you roll down the top of an open bag of chips and put a clip on it to keep it rolled and hopefully fresh. I was tired of the plastic or wood clothspins that I used as chip clips always breaking or coming apart. And the flimsy plastic actual chip clips they sell in super markets are junk. But these do the job nicely. I'm not sure how they work to pin clothes to a line but they make good chip clips.

I bought these because they were supposed to be stainless steel clothes pins. Well, they do stain and they rust. They leave stains and rust spots on my laundry. If I leave them out on the line, they start rusting in a few days. I'm disappointed. I suppose I could bring them in every night, but I don't want to bother with that. Stainless steel isn't supposed to rust, but these do. I live near the ocean, and that's why I paid a lot for these. Next time I'll buy plastic.

Have a different use for these as I use them to hold keep a crease on my collars and keep the tips down after coming out of the dryer. I have some collared shirts that don't need ironing and these work great for this. My wife is doing some trim work around the house and is using one as a clamp while the glue cured. Definitely will have many uses around the house. Well worth having a bag or two on hand.

I don't use these for cloths, but for photography. For things like holding boards in place, and backdrops. They are simple, metal, and durable.

i purchased these clips to hold closed large pet food bags and they are perfect for this use. they have a very strong spring, and they are beautiful as well.
