I had never made my own vanilla before and I decided to give it a try after doing some research. Vanilla has gotten so expensive and this has made it so much more economical. I made well over a gallon and have been sharing it with family and still have plenty for years to come.

The beans I got for the most part were plump and moist. I could cut them down the middle before putting them in the jar. These beans were better than the grade A beans I got.
