Love it!!!
Got this book after reading "Street Child" (the story from Jim the main character's little brothers view) at school. This book is amazing and it is definately not a waste of your money when bought. Here is a short brief of "Far From Home":Lizzie, Emily, Jim (their little brother) and Ma' (their mother) have been kicked out of their tiny little rented room which they managed to call home, as Ma' has fallen sick and is unable to earn money to feed her children let alone pay the rent. The poor, innocent family set out onto the streets...Once they are out Ma' manages to have enough strength to take her two daughters to her only friend, Rosie. Their she leaves Rosie her two girls and asks her to give her girls the best, Rosie tries to hide the girls from her master and give them the best. What will happen next? Will Rosie manage to hide Lizzie and Emily, or will the master find them?If master does find them what will happen? Will the girls be taken care of in the masters home or will they be street girls? Or even worse... THE DREADED WORKHOUSE!!!Bonus: Don't worry this book will not end in a sad way, infact it will end in the best way possible for it to be realistic!

School recommended- Great book for age 9-11
My daughter has been reading the book that accompanies this in school in her English lessons. It’s “Street child”. This is the story told from the sisters of the boy who is the main character in “Street child”. My daughter really enjoys reading this one with me and it’s a lovely story (really shows you what life could be like had you lived in that time). My daughter was fascinated with all the experiences in Street child and would come home from school and talk about it with me and she’s equally interested in what Lizzie and Emily were up to in this book - which was recommended by her teacher.A great book to read with your child in KS2 / year 6 or 7.
