These are wonderful! If you use some imagination, these are not a one time use! It's very easy to pop them apart. I took a very thin small sliver of clear plastic to slide between the batteries when their not being used. I also took a very sharp exacto blade to carve out a tiny notch in one half of the ball so I could easily insert, and remove the sliver of plastic without having open the balls. Since the plastic sliver I used is clear, I can leave it intact, and it's not noticeable. I do not have to remove the sliver of plastic all of the way from between the batteries; just enough to until the two batteries make contact, and the lights begin to glow. When I'm ready to turn them off, I simply slide the clear plastic in between the two batteries again, until the lights turn off. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! The first one, I used non stop for a test run, and it lasted for days. The batteries are cheap, and can be bought most anywhere. Just take them with you when you go to buy new ones!

They lasted a few days! great for a summer party. I wonder if the postings that say you can put the tags back in place are correct. We threw all the tags away, but seems it might be difficult to put the tags back in those little slots.

The only regret I had was that I could not pull all the tabs at the same time but these worked perfectly for Yuri's Night in AL. I opened the ball, pulled the tab, then put it back together on my hair and it looked like I had orbs in my hair. Lots of fun. I put the tabs back in at the end of the night so I will see how long the batteries last. If it continues til September for Outside Con (Montgomery Bell State Park) then I will be ecstatic.

I know some people think these are a hassle, since it takes a lot of work to screw and unscrew each one, not to mention remove the paper blocking the battery. I just bought multiple sets for a wedding reception, despite the hassle, because the effect is worth it. Sheer magic, they make you think of fireflies or fairies, slowly fading in and out without the annoying regularity of a string of lights on slow fade. The effect, in my opinion, makes the hassle worth it.

So fun. I lit them up and popped them into a bubble bath, and it was super luxurious! They held pretty watertight, and I was able to insert the tabs again later to preserve the battery and shut them off. A little bit of hassle to actually turn them on and turn them off, but worth it for the fun factor.

THEY ARE HUGE! But pretty. Down side is you can't turn them off. Company is nice enough to deal with but they will hound you for a review. I mean HOUND you!!! LOL

Comes apart very easily, battery lasts maybe a day or 2.
