I shouldn't buy professional paper until I am.... what... a professional artist??Seriously, try the Strathmore 500 series. You can even cut these cards in half for tiny test paintings and sampling techniques if you are worried about the cost.This is a night and day contrast after Canson cold press. Colours are vibrant, and layer & lift easily.Extremely happy with the product.

Takes barley anything to have the top layer start forming little soggy balled up particles from the top layer peeling after a gentle wash gone over once more oh so carefully. Shouldn't even be allowed to consider tgisq as watercolour paper. Just being honest as Nd trying to save someone the utter disappointment.

This is the weirdest watercolor paper I have ever used. I did some watercolor paint swatches on this paper. Everything was fine but after a few days, the paint showed white specks underneath the paint. I used all professional paints so there was nothing wrong with the paint. I have been trying out different types of watercolor paper for floral painting. I must say that I have found this Strathmore paper to be my least favorite.
