PRODUCT FAILED TO MEET SPECIFICATIONS. COMPANY WON"T EVEN RESPOND
I don't like giving bad reviews, and I prefer to work with manufacturers and sellers. But when they don't take ownership of issues, potential customers need to know.My initial impression of this product was very high. The specifications appeared, if anything, to exceed my expectations. However, after going through the considerable effort of installing a battery and wiring the unit into the circuit it was intended for, it has failed to meet specifications. First, I'm an electrical engineer, well qualified both to evaluate and install this product. I design a variety of electronic devices for a living.I bought this to provide backup power for my furnace and water heater (tankless) during power outages. Living in the mountains, we can get several failures lasting a few hours in a year. The load was calculated as 800 - 900 watts worst case. I ran a test by shutting off the breaker. A couple of minutes after the breaker went off, with less than 800 watts load, the unit failed. I have repeated the test multiple times, measuring various voltages and currents, and cannot identify any legitimate cause of the failure.I have now twice sent an E-Mail to Aims Technical Support, outlining the exact behavior observed, complete with test conditions and measurements. They have not even done me the courtesy of a reply acknowledging my E-Mails. I'm more than happy to work with them to resolve this matter, and quite reluctant to have to unwire and remove the unit. But the bottom line is that it doesn't meet specifications, and I shall probably have to remove and return it.I cannot recommend a company to anyone who can't manage to even acknowledge an E-Mail in two or three weeks time. However good their products might otherwise be, if they don't support their customers, I'm not interested.

Very pleased!
If you only need 1000 watts, buy this one. It will handle anything within its limits without destroying your stuff. The instructions are easy and in good English. It DOESN'T have to be turned on to operate the load when plugged in through the transfer switch. A lot of them do have to be on, using power all the time! It's heavy, and really good looking if you like metallic blue. Get the remote, sold separately. Totally worth the extra cost. The unit will alarm and shut off when the batteries are depleted. When they are depleted you can plug it in and it will automatically charge them back up for you.Criticisms: I would have liked the input cable lugs to have covers on them instead of leaving the exposed lugs. Also the mounting slots could be a shade bigger for larger mounting bolts. They are OK for a flat mount, but wall mounting deserves larger hardware.

Uncertain about the quality of this inverter
Great product, easy to install and does the job. Installed in a few minutes without issues. The battery charger works great with large or small battery banks. The pure sine wave is much more superior than those that output modified sine wave. For the price and feature, it is hard to beat. Also, the fast power switch is essential for online devices. This is an update to my original review after I used the product for about 40 days, the 55AMP charger failed, and it can now only charge at 20AMP. In the mean time, I was not able to get an response from AIMS after I wrote couple times to them about the problem. The product stated that it came with 1 year warranty. Right around this time, I ordered a 2nd unit for backup. The unit arrived with a missing battery selector. The unit also showed sign of touchup paint on some scratches found on the metal case. Looked like a refurbished unit. I returned it immediately.

Output was perfect 60Hz with and a perfect sine wave
Worked as advertised. Held a 1000W load for 30 minutes without any issue and charger had no problem charging the batteries. Output was perfect 60Hz with and a perfect sine wave. Would have given it 5 stars but since it does not have a method of changing battery type I only gave it 4. For the money it is a good choice.

keeps the 120 volt fridge running while going down the road!
works as promised. 12 volt charger power supply, 120 volt inverter, and 120 volt pass through transfer switch, all in one. We install them with the remote, easy yo use, and works great! It does not automatically switch over to 12 volt inverter power, you have to turn it on, (again, we use the remote panel, not included) but will auto switch back to shore power the instant you plug it in.

Performance and Value
For the money, this is a great unit. Performs flawlessly with my three 85 ah group 24 12v batteries in parallel feeding ac to the 15 amp outlet circuit in my RV. Quick transfer switching, cool operation, and pure sine wave output provides good clean power for all my devices (including my vintage tube guitar amp) when on the road. Customer support is top-notch. While the optional remote switch is recommended, for my needs it was not necessary. I could not justify spending twice the money or more for the same performance in an inverter/charger.

Ineffective
This item was delivered to me ineffective. Once hooked up to a 100ah battery measuring 14v the inverter had 0 ac output. I would highly recommend testing your product as soon as you unbox it.
