I was really excited when I got this and mounted it up on the windshield right away. It worked great! Held the phone in place even on the most bumpy of roads, easy to remove the phone, and no effect on the phone from the powerful magnet. After a couple days though, the silicone suction cup part of it melted and it was hanging off the glass. Now I live in the Caribbean, so the days can get pretty hot, but I certainly didn't expect that. I contacted the seller and sent pictures, and initially their response was it wasn't a defect so they wouldn't be refunding me. I was disappointed, but that disappointment turned to pleasant surprise when they contacted me again and asked if I was interested in another one or a refund because they stand by their products! I opted for a replacement as I hoped maybe it would work better on the dash. You may ask why I didn't just use the vent clip attachment? Like I said, I live in the Caribbean... It gets hot..... I need all my vents. My only gripe is that I had to keep emailing them about the status of the order, because it should only have taken a couple of weeks to arrive... It took several. Anyway, I finally received it and mounted it on the dash. Several weeks later so far so good. There have been many scorchers, but no melting. My advice, don't mount on the windshield if the car will be in direct sunlight most of the day, especially in the hotter months. Kudos to the supplier though, it's the only reason this got 4 stars.

I have a wireless charger for my Note 7 so this was tricky to get to work. Sure i could switch to using the cord but when you have the wireless capability you want to use it because it's easier And I already shelled out the money for the charger. Which is the same in the case of this mount it is easier than one with the cradle. But you have to get the metal plate in the exact right spot which seems to be as close to the bottom of the phone as possible if you get too high it won't charge at all and if you get it in the middle of theAnd I already shelled out the money for the charger. Is now glued on the bottom of my phone and my phone charges fine and the mount works it just is positioned a little too high in my car because of the spot of the point and my case has super glue marks all over the back of it because once you pop the plate off the adhesive sucks. I found a better version of this mount made by scorch they sell at walmart for twenty dollars

Solid made product. I have an extended battery Samsung Galaxy S5. I was worried it would be too heavy to be held in the magnet. I was also worried the suction cup would be too weak. I was pleasantly relieved when I found that the suction cup is super strong. It has some tackiness on the suction cup so it sticks very well. In the long term, I worry that the tackiness is some sort of adhesive that could melt off in the summer, causing it to leave a stain. However, because the windshield glass is so smooth, it would be easy to clean off if it does leave behind residue (I intend to never remove the suction cup so this isn't an issue. If you frequently take it on and off, you might find the tackiness annoying because you want to protect your delicate skin from touching sticky stuff). I would rather have the tackiness on the suction cup to have it stick super well. I've had suction cups that were weaksauce and fell off all the time, but I know that this suction cup will never fail because of the adhesion of the tackiness. Secondly the magnet is very strong. I drive super aggressively, trying to pull 1g going around corners, and my heavy phone has not even come close to falling off. A+ product. A+ seller. Highly recommend.

The vent adapter didn't fit my vents well (Scion TC) and the prongs on the adapter broke after a few weeks of use. I have now been using the window holder and that has been working well. I need to use the full magnetic plate in my phone case in order to keep it stuck to the holder and even still it falls off if I turn too quickly or hit a pothole. My phone isn't that large (HTC one remix) so I'm not sure that larger phones would stick at all. I keep my metal plate inside of my phone case, so perhaps if I stuck it to the phone itself and used it without the case it would work better. Overall, it generally works and for the price I can't complain.As a side note, HTC phones have this thing called "Dot View" that gets activated by magnetic fields including this holder. This view will override your phone screen and prevent you from seeing maps or anything else and the mode cannot be turned off or deactivated. With careful positioning of the magnet you can avoid triggering it but you should probably consider getting a non-magnetic holder.

Finally, a dashboard phone holder that does not bug me! Not difficult to mount, not difficult to dismount. This is how they should have been made from the beginning. Magnets! Strong enough to hold the phone (with the weight of the case) on and weak enough to pry out with a gentle tug! What's the best part? The package comes with 2 magnetic inserts. I use one in my phone and other in my wife's phone. So if she were to drive my car, she too can use the same mount. Score! The package does come with a vent mount. Convenient for those who believe vent mounts are cool or in states where a dashboard mount is illegal. I am not a fan, so that one stays in the box. The overall profile of the mount is small enough that it does not appear overbearing and design is functional and minimalistic. I would highly recommend this over any other type of dash mount. The only thing I want to know is how do I take it with me if I am on a roadtrip in a rented car. I guess the vent mount would have to do its job then. Oh well.. small troubles for big wins!
