The product does what it is made for. Based on the material, this made in China product is priced too high – may be double than what it should be. If I was buying this from a store and get to see & touch it, I wouldn’t be buying it at this price. Not sure how Amazon determines the price of a product before they let someone sell stuff in their site. People would soon loose confidence on Amazon if this continues to go on. The rating is based on the products price.

This is a temporary solution to whatever you have going on. The reviews are too good to be true. I bought it because I was having surgery and needed a place to lay my twin babies while recovering and it did its job but past two weeks of use and laying on it hurts my every single bone

We use this in our hard wood floor living room for movie nights. Can roll up and put into a closet between uses. Comes with a washable sheet cover we should have used as we already got popcorn butter stains on it!

I've been sleeping on this futon mattress for a week now and love it. Other reviews I've seen of this seem to have people using this mattress as the complete bed. I don't recommend that. Get a FULI Japanese Igusa (rush grass) tatami mattress to go as the bottom layer, then put a pad, then put this Futon mattress, then blankets. Using it this way works great for a bed system, I'm not going back to bed frame, box spring and mattress system. No surprise, this system creates a very firm surface to sleep on. This came in a box with a mattress case (I'm using it like a sheet) that zips on, straps to secure it for when you roll it up for moving it and a carrying duffle bag type case for it. Extremely practical. In the photos above I'll be adding a pad between the grass mat and futon, it will be coming in a few weeks. If you are considering a simple, easy to use and great to sleep on system, then get this Japanese Floor Mat Futon. During the day you could easily fold it up and put it away or just to gain some extra room.
