Looking for the 35 pieces?
Looking for the pieces? The author has a link from his website to a guy making up kits of the 35 pieces for 12.00. It took a while to receive but I got it. My almost 5 year old and I have made the vacuum and the preying mantis so far. The 35 piece builds are short enough that he stays interested and I was pleased to see him do the mantis head and body himself while I did the legs. The pieces are tiny ... So an extra set might be smart. I love that the whole book is the same pieces. Makes us think about how they can be used. My only wish is that there was step by steps for each model ... My little guy isn't ready to build from the picture :-)

Very entertaining book
This was bought for my 10 year old son. A friend had her own copy of the book, and had made the lego kits to go with the book for her grandchildren. She made a kit for him, but we needed to buy the book. He made every creation, and enjoyed it very much. Now need to buy the next book, We LOVE legos, He took his kit and book when we went on the road and it kept him busy and entertained. So much fun for a small number of peices.

good idea
So my 8 year old has been into Legos since he was 4. We have a ton of them and I thought this would give him ideas to use the pieces he already has. He was mildly interested in this book but hasn't bothered to build any of these things yet. However the 35 pieces that are used in each build are pretty common pieces so I think we could make several of these designs all at once. I think if I help him find the correct pieces we could have real fun with this.

Good for younger builders!
My 5 year old nephew really enjoys this book. It has ideas that are easy for him to build on his own. The only criticism I have is that the book is small for the price.

I purchased this for my 1st grade grandson thinking it would be an easy way for him to get interested in building with Legos. I have a giant tub of Legos from when his father was young. But even with a trip to the Lego store, I am still missing a couple of the shoes that are used.

Great for entertaining the kids!
I purchased this to give my brother and his boys as a gift when his wife had her new baby. I figured it would help dad keep the kids entertained and was right! They have been having lots of fun building robots and more and it has helped keep them out of mom's hair, too. Every time I go over to visit I am shown the newest creation.

Great for kids to learn how to follow instructions
I bought for my son and nephew who both love Legos but have difficulties with the complex sets. It allows them to learn to follow the more complex instructions in the big Lego sets. Also allows for more creative play without needing parents to always assemble the "cool stuff" for them

It doesn't come with the kit
I loved this book but you have to own the 35 pieces in order to build them. I thought it might come with it or have an option to buy just those 35 pieces in it's own kit but it doesn't..

Lego brand is the best to work with
Its a great book. Easy to understand. The directions could've better . It doesn't cover every step so some is left to interpret yourself
