Corte dei Gonzaga is the name of Irma Guidorossi's pottery studio in Mantova. The artist has earned a remarkable reputation for her work, made using the "sgraffito" technique. A layer of white clay is applied on the raw piece and the decoration is "scratched" on this thick surface (engobe) before the first firing. Then the clock is hand painted in the colors of Mantova traditional ceramics.
