I rarely leave reviews unless a product really impresses me. I ordered 3 of these. Just received them and could not be happier. I keep a lot of flour varieties on hand because I bake a lot. I have always liked to keep them in the original packaging so I know exactly what it is but also want them in something to keep them fresh. Gallon ziploc bags work but are kind of wasteful. Plus a full bag doesn’t fit in one in situations where I open the bag and only use a cup or 2. And then you’re constantly rolling and unrolling the top and I end up getting flour everywhere. These containers are perfect. The original bag slides right in. You cut the top off at the top of the container so no more rolling/unrolling or having extra bag to contend with when scooping. The top holds the bag in place and the lid is large enough to fit a measuring cup into. And it has a scoop that hangs on the outside so you don’t have to dig it into and out of the flour to close it up. They also give a nice uniform, organized look to bags. If I HAD to find a complaint it would be that it feels a little cheap. But I actually don’t mind that given that, in this case, I’d prefer something inexpensive so I don’t feel like I’m spending a fortune on several of them.

I finally splurged and wished I had done so sooner. I used to keep my flour bag in a jumbo Ziplock bag and although it did the job, it took up too much space in the drawer. It's neat and protects the flour from invasion by pests.BTW, I always put my flour in the freezer for at least a day before opening to prevent pantry moths. Trust me, you don't ever want to go through that experience.

I always had open bags of flour and sugar that I had to shove into a Ziploc bag and it made my pantry look so sloppy. Saw these and bought one for sugar and the other for flour. PERFECT FIT. Nice and organized now! My flour was 5 pound and sugar was 3 pounds. I left them in the bag they came in but because they were completely full at the time, the spoon that comes with it didn't fit. Now that I have about half a bag of each the spoon comes in handy and I just leave it in there for future use. I am glad I bought these!

Perfect size for my minimal use of flour and the attached scoop is handy. The lid can be tricky to get a good seal.

Fits all brands of 5 lb. flour bags I have perfectly. Love that it holds the bag open and in place. Closes tightly. Love being able to read the bag through the container, too! A little pricey, but well worth it. Much better than zip locks with spilled flour sitting outside the flour bag inside the zip lock. For those that want to empty the bag into the container...DON'T. The flour is compacted in the bag. When you try to empty the bag into the container, it adds air and fluffs up the flour. It will take up more room, and the container will appear to be too small for 5 lbs. This is why recipes will tell you to lightly spoon the flour into your measuring cup and level it off with a knife or spatula so you don't compact the flour and end up with more than needed. These containers are terrific!

This container is great for storing flour. I am commenting in response to the 2 and 3 star reviews.* Contrary to the negative reviewer, I found the main lid to be very secure with a bag inside. I lifted the container by the lid with a full bag of flour just to see if the lid popped off and it did not.*The pour spout does in fact snap closed.*Putting the bag of flour inside the container is not problematic and cutting the bag at the right point is not complicated. If the flour is settled so it's expanded out a little, you might have to squish it to lengthen it to make it fit in easier, but it's not a big deal.*The plastic is not cheap and is WAY thicker than Ziploc containers and seems to me to be quite durable. I don't' know how the person can say it's cheaper than Ziploc. It's quite obviously much thicker. I have some Tupperware and it is just as thick and sturdy as my Tupperware.* I scoop out a full cup of flour through the pop up lid with no problem. I can't imagine what kind of measuring cup the person is using to say that only ¼ cup fits.Perhaps they have defective products or maybe are not reviewing the right product.I ordered just one if these to see if I liked it. Now I'm back to order four more. I bake a lot of bread and have several different types of flours that I use. If I'm using more than 2 cups of flour, I weigh it rather than measure as it's easier and more accurate. These containers work well for weighing as you can dump flour directly into your bowl.My only quibble with this product is that there is not a straight edge to level the flour. The inside rim is curved. This seems like a totally obvious feature to include in a flour container, so I will gripe about that in hopes that the manufacture looks at reviews and will see this and think about adding a straight edge. If I could take half a star off for that I would, but since I can't I'll leave it at 5 stars. Other than that, I love these containers. They are the best thing I have found for storing flour.

Making bread often and needed a flour container. Love the scoop and the way it connects to the container so it is always handy.

Well made

I have had Buddeez flour/sugar canisters for years but the older models had a very convenient handle. For some reason, both Rubbermaid and Buddeez have stopped making storage containers with handles. Incomprehensible as these containers can be quite heavy when full and if you have a small handspan or arthritis in your fingers, this container can be difficult to grasp on to.Having said that, the quality of the container and the fit of the lid is excellent. The hinge at the lid remains as sturdy as ever. There is also a handy dandy scoop that hangs off a notch on the outside which makes things so much easier.

Not what I thought it would your be.

Great for my perk coffee-Can to large-This fit in cupboard and takes up less space.-Love the scoop; holds just enough for a pot of coffee.

Like it. Sugar bag from Canada is a little too big. Once you remove some sugar it works great.
