sainsmart Upgraded TS80P Portable Soldering Iron with Adjustable Temperature with TS-B02 Tip

I can't say enough good things about this soldering iron.I purchased this as I needed a portable soldering iron to take with me as my hakko station isn't the most mobile friendly machine. However since I've purchased the ts80p, other then a single occasion I've found myself using this in place of my hakko even when the hakko is available. It's just so convenient, coupled with a mediocre USB power supply and its a powerful little device.The alternate tips are great, I find them better then the standard one it comes with.Did I mentioned it's completely open source and updating the firmware is simple to do! It was simple to add some flair to it like if I triple tap the tip it will instantly go to standby instead of waiting and when picked up it will heat right back up. It's my dream iron, hackable and capable.

If I did include a photo it would be of an additional one hundred bucks missing from my wallet. Buy this for $149 direct from SainSmart Tech CA store. This is an excellent soldering iron -- 5 stars for the product. Works great even with lower powered usb-c power banks. Highly recommended to buy, but at a fair price elsewhere. I am waiting for a full refund and will purchase again from SainSmart Tech CA amazon store without the price gouging.

Pros: has digital temperature control.Cons: The tip of the soldering iron does not get hot enough; measuring tip temperature showed that it was not actually at the temperature indicated on the LCD display, making it very difficult to de-solder parts as the tip would not get hot enough. Also, the soldering wand would visually bend when only a small amount of pressure was applied to the tip, making the longevity of this product very questionable. Also only came with one pointy tip, and no wedge tip.

Aftermarket firmware solves alot of the powering issues you might find depending on what power source you are using.
