Great trimmer but not so good edger
The battery holds up well compared to other trimmers. I got a good, solid 60 minutes of constant run time out of the 24 volt before the battery died. The trimming capabilities are very good but edging is just fair. The line feeder does not feed out consistently while in the "Edger Position", and when it did start to feed out line, the line would stick and clog up. I had to stop several times to manually remove and reinstall the spool. I used three different spools to try to get smooth and consistent line feed. I never got good, smooth and consistent line feeding in any position and would prefer a "bump method" to this automatic line feed that never really worked as advertised. It seemed that the spools provided may have been wrapped too tight or got too hot so the line got stuck together and would clog. Whatever the cause, the clogging happened a lot when in the edger position and occasionally when in the trimmer position. I also had to manually angle the edger to get it to continue cutting as the line feed did not always supply line after breaking off. There is no sight indicator to help line up where the edger cut will be, so you have to guess each time you start. If you guess wrong you get a edge line in the wrong place on the grass. The problem is I bought this to do edging because the Black & Decker trimmer/edger I bought, had to be sent back because it was even worse at edging and had a 15 minute battery life. I rated this product only fair because of the difficulties in the "edging" mode with the line feed and no indicator of where the cut would be. Getting replacement spools that are in good shape may help the line feed but I bought extras to start with and they seemed to have the same result. I will try going to the manufacturer directly for new spools of line to see if that helps but the cost for S&H is higher than the cost thru other sources. I will see how it goes and update the rating if there are changes.

It is one of the few "as seen on T.V." products that lives up to it's claim!
First off, I did not get this through Amazon so I am reviewing the trimmer only. I live in a suburban neighborhood and use this on mostly just grass and light weeds and it absolutly fabulous. I can do my whole yard in about 25 -35 minutes! It's very light weight compared to most gas models! I am on my 3rd season with this Worx 24v trimmer and is still working as good as new and the batteries still continue to hold a full charge. It is one of the few "as seen on T.V." products that lives up to it's claim! It works great as an edger along my sidewalks. My neighbor on one side of me never trims his yard and his grass & weeds are always growing through my fence. So I use the trimmer in edge mode (Head turned 90 degrees and wheels attached) and run it along the inside of my fence and it clears all the grass growing through it without the string getting hung in the links!I do receive constant compliments from my family, friends and neighbors(except 1) as to how well manicured my lawn is thanks to this trimmer. My yard is about 3/4 acre with fence around most of it. I purchased a second battery when I ordered my Worx trimmer figuring that I would really need it, but that has rarely been the case.Unless the grass is really thick from allot of rain or whatever, I can trim my whole yard on just 1 battery. Also, the string spools last a surprisingly long time also, I can usually get 4-5 full yard trims per spool. I do recommend you get extra spools from Amazon as they are cheaper than getting the so called "Free for life" spools you get from the Worx website where you get 3 "Free" spools but are charged $7.99 for shipping. Now if you need to trim allot of heavy brush and weeds you would probably be better off with a gas trimmer, but for average grass and weeds the Worx 24v trimmer has more than enough power and I highly recommend it!Last summer I caught the 32v version with 2 batteries on sale at a really good price on a famous auction site (Worx has a store there) and ordered it. I keep it stored in my basement for the time when my 24v model finally bites the dust, which I suspect won't be anytime soon!
