This de-shedder works so much better than those wire slicker brushes I've always used for my cats. I've got a short-hair and a long-hair. This works great for both. It doesn't damage their coats at all.Short-Hair Cat:The slicker brushes and the rubber ones never got much from my short-haired cat leaving hands, clothes, and furniture covered in little orange hairs. This de-shedding tool gets enough off of him that it has dramatically decreased how much loose hair ends up everywhere from him. He also hated being groomed by every other brush or tool I've tried, but this this barely bothered him at all - he was apprehensive at first, as he often is of new things, but once he sniffed it and inspected it he let me groom him just fine.Long-Hair Cat:The wire slicker brushes had decent luck with my long-haired cat, but they always caused his fur to become static-y. I'd groom him and he'd look worse than he did before I brushed him. This tool left his coat much softer than a slicker brush ever has, and got more hair from him. While not totally static-free, there was far less of it with this comb. It also seems to irritate his skin much less than other grooming tools have, as his dandruff has improved with the use of this comb. Also, he loved being groomed with this. Purring and sleepy-eyed the whole time.Why 4 Stars?I docked this comb by one star because it gets the hair everywhere as it's combing it out. The comb doesn't trap the hair very well, beyond a small amount, which you have to pull from the tines by hand and pile up, where it will hopefully not drift off or get everywhere before you're done grooming. There was so much more hair flying around when I combed my cats with this tool than there is with a brush... but again, it also worked better at actually de-shedding.Overall:Absolutely a good investment, especially at the ~$15 it was when I bought it considering other similar tools can run $30+.

This is an excellent product! I love how this helped me with my dogs when they were shedding. After using this brush daily, we no longer have chunks of fur all over our house! I'm so pleased!

This thing is amazing! My dog is part golden retriever and has a Lot of hair! This thins her coat substantially so that she’s more comfortable in the heat of summer. A light touch is all it takes; the teeth are quite sharp on the comb. Removes a lot of hair with minimal effort.

it does work but i had a much cheaper simpler brush years ago for my old lab/ beagle mix that worked a lot better but after he died i lost it. so the thing with this one is for my boxer i brush 'against the grain' to loosen up his undercoat then finish 'with the grain' to get all the loose hair but initially it didn't do much, i found that holding the brush so the teeth are making contact at a 45 degree angle is best, but the angle of the handle doesn't exactly make this easy. also as i said, i had to figure this out on my own as there arent any instructions on how to get the best results for long haired pets vs short haired pets or anything like that, so that was a little annoying. but once you figure out the best technique for your pet it does remove a lot of hair, but i wasn't impressed by the quantity, i remember the huge clumps of hair my old dog's brush removed (and he wss a short hair dog too) this doesn't compare too well and its not as easy to use either. oh and when im done theres always a bunch of loose hair on him the brush missed so i have to rub him all over for a minute or two to get it all off. ive been using this regularly but im still digging through the garage looking for the other brush, if i ever find it im going to stop using this one.

Received this today and couldn’t be more pleased. Great quality itemThis tool does exactly what it states and does not cause any discomfort to my dogs. We use this daily to help with our pugs shedding its easy to use , lightweight and just seconds to clean and storeI recommend this to anyone dealing with excess dog shedding we love it !!!

I was looking into one of the most expensive brands of de-shedding tools, but read the reviews and decided to try this. My cat has medium to long hair with a thick undercoat. This tool seems to work as well as I could hope for and spending less on a tool is a bonus.
