Fishing Rod Holder, Kayak Gear

Does not fit all kayaks.
Love the idea of this product but sadly it does not sit tight on my kayak. I have an old town sorrento and have tried it in different spots and no mater how much or little I tighten it up it still shifts and jiggles around. Plus when you put the rod into it the clip that should help hold the rod in place and it just opens up. Just set up with my rod in it was so loosed my rod fell out of it and the holder was flipped forward. By the time I had a chance to try it out the return window was closed. Nice concept but waste of money.

Cascade Creek Rod Holder
This is my 2nd one. I keep one in California with my kayak there. I purchased another one for use here in Illinois. They fit my Fiesta kayak's perfectly, maintains tightness and stability mounted on the cockpit combing. It allows me to position my pole so I can paddle when trolling, or just hold the rod when moving to other places. This is one of best and easiest rod mounts on the market. No need to drill holes or put screws into the hull. I'm sold on Cascade Creek products. I used it last week and caught several bass trolling. Its easy to set the pole in, and easy to remove the rod when you have a fish on. Thanks for making available

Returned it
I got this to try to use on my sea kayak. Its a low quality product it isn't very secure on the kayak it flops around all over the place and I feel it would put pressure on the cockpit combing which is a known weak point on most sea kayaks. There are better options out there.

High hopes
Good idea, not really universal, does not fit any of my kayaks. Hope it works on my canoe

Properly Attached
I have a Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T kayak. I put the Rod Holder on the first time incorrectly. I easily slipped the curved piece on the lip of the kayak and began turning the tightening screw. This didn't work at all, the Rod Holder wasn't stable and wouldn't hold my rod without falling off the kayak. I then figured out that the lip of the Rod Holder must be firmly placed on the underside/inside lip of the kayak. Once I did that, and with a good amount of force, I pulled the other side of the rod holder over the outer edge of the kayak lip. I thought that I was going to break it but it didn't. Once properly attached it is stable and works perfectly. I am able to slide it along the kayak to different positions and tighten it down based on need. I am going to buy one more. Excellent product!

Works
I bought this to hold my fishing pole while on my kayak. It was a little difficult for me to attach it to the kayak. I also have to remove it when I transport and store my kayak.

BEST Thing I Found for a Fly Rod - To Use on My Kayak - Works for ALL Outfits Though
Fantastic device. Lets me take a fly rod along, with my spinning rods in the two rod holders built in to my kayak. Only one I found that works well with a fly rod OR a spinning rod. (Certain it will work for a casting outfit as well.) Actually bought a second one - now I can take along TWO fly rods, if I like.

Not a stable fit for my Dagger-Savannah or WIlderness System-Focus
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I couldn't get a stable fit on my Dagger "Savannah". I also tried it on my wife's Wilderness System "focus" without luck. May just have to drill.
