Bye bye dry, cracked feet!
I've been struggling with extremely dry, cracked feet and heels for two years now. They got so painful, it sometimes felt like I was walking on glass shards. I've tried everything, every cream possible, vaseline and socks at night, bandaids, Neosporin, essential oils, salicylic acid -- you name it, I've tried it. The cracks would always open up again. Until I tried these amazing socks! The gel inside of them is cooling and feels so soothing on my sore feet. The fact that my toes are open to the air makes it so they're not too hot to sleep in. I don't even know they're on, really. With regular cotton socks, in the summer, no way could I sleep with them on. I still work at keeping my feet from becoming dry again, so I use my creams and oils before putting them on, but when I wake up in the morning, my feet are moist and hydrated.I'm surprised they work so well -- I tried them in a desperate long shot. The only thing I'd ask the manufacturer would be to provide different sizes to fit all kinds of feet.Update 10/16/2014: Couldn't really use them in the hot summer weather as they made my feet really hot and sweaty at night. Looking forward to cooler weather and wearing them again.

Good tool but won't work alone, I like them but they must be handwashed frequently
Daverat's Wife Speaking: Please be kind about typos; I have arthritis. This is a decent and affordable product but I would not recommend to anyone who cannot wear support socks or have restrictive elastic socks on their feet because these are TIGHT. That said, I found them comfortable enough to wear at night while sleeeping, largly due to the toeless design. The socks work best when you apply your favorite heel-softening cream and massage it into your feet all the way, until it is completely absorbed. I then put my hand into the sock with my palm UP so it can cup my heel as I slide them on. Once you've done it a few times, it becomes second nature. If your feet are larger than a woman's size 10 medium, don't even think about buying. I'm a size 9 1/2 narrow and they are pretty tight but comfortable enough for me to wear all night. I could NOT, however, wear them more than 8 hours. I should think the ideal size for this product would be a little smaller than my foot, perhaps a size 8 to 9 narrow or medium. The material works by keeping in any moisture already on or in the skin that reamins covered by the gelee fabric all night. Normally we lose skin moisture due to evaporation, sweating , etc. These socks hold it ALL against your heels. That means the socks will get a little "ripe" after a couple of uses but it's easily fixed. All you have to do is rinse the socks out in warm water with a tiny bit of woolite or baby detergent. Do not use soap, use detergent. They are two different things. You will find when you take them off the first morning that you can see some dead skin on your feet and that your heels are pretty soft. That is the best time to get out your pumice stone or foot file (not razor!) and buff away. Buff your entire foot, even the areas not covered by the sock. If you shower, it's a good idea to do another round of polishing. This is the best time to use a dry hand towel to work between your toes and around your nails because you feet have been standing in water. Those areas need attention too! After buffing and rinsing, re-apply your moisture or healing foot cream and then wear socks, even if they are just anklets. Going barefoot or sockless can set you back. if you have to wear hose, you have to. It won't matter that much if you stick to the routine of always wearing socks and moistrizer at other times. If you stick to this basic routine and remember to rinse out the socks every couple of day, shaking them out well each day, you should see some pretty good results within a week. In two weeks time you should see a dramatic difference.I like these as an additional tool in my pedicure kit but they aren't magic. They simply give you a headstart in the morning. If you don't work outside the home and want to wear them during the day and do your buffing at night - that's fine too. I just don't think it's a good idea to wear these 24/7 since they are very tight. Even though I would like to get some extra help with the clallouses on my big toes, I really like that these are are open at the toe. I would NOT be able stand having a sock that tight on my foot all night if it was squeezing my toes.Good product at a decent price and more comfortable than several other brands I have tried. As long as you know they are not a miracle product and that you must still use cream and a pumice, you'll be pleased with them.

Immediate results, but must keep wearing them!
The first night I wore these, I was surprised the next day. My very dry, cracked heels looked so much better. I was able to rub off softened callous with my fingers. I wore them again the second night and found my heels to be even softer, but I wasn't able to rub off callouses in the same way the next day. I was excited to find a solution to my ugly heels just in time for sandal season. After 3 or 4 nights of wearing them, I forgot them one night and was discouraged by the following night to realize my heels were getting dry and snagging on my sheets a bit. I realized that (for me at least) I would need to wear these every night if I wanted nice smooth heels all summer long. The socks stay in place well, shifting very little over night. When you remove them, the elastic does leave marks in your ankle, but it isn't uncomfortable while you're wearing them. The socks are also comfortable to walk in, but I noticed my gel starting to split down the middle after I walked in them for several hours one morning.I do have two complaints about these socks. First, my feet stink when I take them off. That means the socks also stink after a couple nights. I would advise buying a couple pair so you can keep wearing them while hand-washing and air-drying the other pair.My second complaint is actually that it leaves my toes still dry and calloused. I understand that the toes are left open so you don't overheat when wearing them to bed, but it means I still need to find a solution to my calloused big toe. Despite having toes uncovered, I discovered that wearing these socks to bed becomes uncomfortable in hot weather.Dramatic and quick results for calloused heels, though it will require continual use for long-term results.
