Northwood Sauna - Sauna Sand Timer - Handmade from Canadian Red Cedar Wood - Wall-Mounted Rotating 15-Minute Hourglass with White Sand

This was a beautiful, red cedar timer. Unfortunately after we installed it in our sauna it failed to function after just two sauna sessions. The sand stopped flowing and became solidified inside the glass chamber. I had high hopes for this, after purchasing a hygrometer/ thermometer from the same manufacturer.

Packed and protected very well. Included information card made the gift even more special to my recipient.

Inaccurate timer! 14 minutes when it emptied! NOT 15 as advertised. Try against a digital timer first! Otherwise, I would have kept it. Looks great. Nice quality bit of it can’t keep time!….

This is the perfect timer for the sauna and its beautiful simplistic design fits right in with my traditional wood burning sauna :)

*UPDATE* Not only did this stop working shortly after receiving it, the company said they would replace it but never did. Avoid this company and their products! *ORIGINAL REVIEW* Had this timer for a couple of months and the sand is clotted and won’t move through the hour glass. It seemed like it was nicely constructed but that doesn’t really matter if it doesn’t work.

Works like any typical sand timer, sometimes simple is best.

The sand gets stuck in the timer. It only runs for 5 minutes before getting stuck. We had to tap it to try and get it to run again. We just resorted to using a phone to time the 15 minutes.

Piece of crap, do not buy. Lasts maybe 2-3 sessions. Then sand clomps up and won't move. This is my second purchase of Chinese low quality low price. Buy a genuine Harvia brand and you won't regret.

Looks like it's good quality. Sand seems to go through nicely. Sturdy and spins good. Bought it for my parents, pretty sure they will like it.
