This sleeve has made art fun again!
Aesthetics:Beautiful design! The wooden pencil look really reminds me of childhood and makes working on art or writing a fun nostalgic experience. Personally, it puts me in a good mood to start my creative sessions off. I got the traditional yellow version but I would love to try other colors in the future to match my setup. I love the style and thick chonkyness.Installing/Removing:I saw that some people had issues with installing or removing this sleeve. However, if you do it properly, it only takes 15 seconds more or less. I think most reviewers who are struggling with this and giving it bad ratings are simply just not doing it properly. You do not need to rush or use much force to install or remove it. I will include a video with my review showing how easy it is.If you use a case for your iPad, you will probably have to either remove the sleeve in order to charge your pencil, or remove your iPad from its case to give your pencil a flat surface to charge on. The sleeve’s added thickness makes it much thicker so that it will no longer fit in regular Apple Pencil case slots. For me, it’s not a big deal, I just remove the pencil’s sleeve and set it to charge after each drawing/writing session. It does mean that if you plan to permanently keep the sleeve on, you will no longer be able to magnetically store it attached to your iPad. You will need a safe place to carry your pencil, or remove the sleeve, and carry that separately. Personally, I have a laptop sleeve with a pocket where I carry everything together so it’s fine for me.Practical Use:The silicone is very soft. If you’re an artist or a writer, you will appreciate the silicone. However, the straight line edges that give this sleeve the whole wooden pencil design can be a positive or a negative. If you hold your pen lightly or purposely use the straight sides as a guide to tell your fingers where to hold, you will love this sleeve. But, on the other side, if you are someone that holds your pen tightly or wraps your thumb around the pen, then this sleeve’s harsh edges will be pretty uncomfortable after a while. For context, I am using this sleeve with an Apple Pencil Pro 2024. The “squeeze” feature still works perfectly fine in all of my drawing apps. However, the double tap is a little awkward. My fingers are a bit thick so sometimes I “miss” the cutout for the double tap or don’t hit it directly and that can get annoying. I recently started using an 8bitdo Micro for all of my shortcuts, though. So I’ve stopped using the doubletap anyway. If you are someone that relies heavily on the double tap and you have thicker fingers, you might struggle to hit that little cutout. I think that with practice, you’ll get the hang of it, though. Conclusion:This sleeve is beautiful and makes the experience of drawing or writing fun and nostalgic. You WILL probably need to remove the sleeve OR your iPad case to charge your pencil. You will either love or hate the harsh straight lines of the design. That is something you have to have in mind before purchasing.

Excellent protection and Sweet look for your iPen 2nd Gen.
Perfect fit, easy to install. All the iPen features still work and it’s able to magnetize and charge as normal. Looks sweet, feels soft and gives my iPad a notebook look and feel. Just don’t pencil fight with it! HaHa…

Cute, Protective, and Stylish - Slight Quirks with Functionality
I’ve been really happy with this Apple Pencil case from elago! It provides excellent protection and has a super cute design - I’ve actually gotten multiple compliments on it. It fits well and definitely helps keep my pencil safe from scratches and drops. One small issue I’ve noticed is that with the Apple Pencil Pro, the double tap feature can be a bit tricky to use at times. It still works, but you might have to tap a little harder or reposition your finger. Also, replacing the pencil tip can be a bit difficult with the case on - you’ll probably need to remove it entirely to change the tip, which can be a hassle.Overall, it’s a great product that combines style and function. I’d definitely recommend it if you want to protect your Pencil and get a few compliments while you’re at it!

Not easily chargeable
Good grip. Not easily chargeable though. Very hard to remove once you put it on.

Clearing up the confusion among all the reviews out there
I wanted to write this review, because when shopping for this product, half the reviews seemed to indicate the product was good but ‘deficient’ in some capacity or another. Lots of reviews claimed the charging worked fine with the case on, lots of reviews claimed the charging was not so fine. I decided to purchase the product myself and here is my take.First of all, the quality is great. Not sure what people are complaining about, but in the hand this case makes the Apple Pencil feel extremely solid and much, much grippier. It also improves the look of the pencil dramatically. On top of all that, it is a great shock absorber in the event of accidents. I’ve probably knocked over my Apple Pencil 3 or 4 times since buying this case, and while the pencil used to land with an ear piercing thud and a sense of dread that the internals might be broken, these days a spill is no big deal, as the case basically cocoons your pencil in absolute safety. The addition to the looks, the feel, and the safety make this purchase a no brainer in my opinion. As to the charging and the magnetic hold, I’ve had no issues with either. The magnetic hold on my iPad Pro 12” is as strong as ever, and once clipped on, this pencil is going nowhere. Secondly, it charges just fine. I think a lot of people might be slipping the case on incorrectly, or misaligning it, but if you take about 7 seconds to read the instructions and put this case on properly, there are 0 issues. Got it? 0 issues. Don’t listen to the 0 star reviews of people who can’t be bothered to read instructions and then spread incorrect information. Here’s the only true gripe: As people have correctly stated, it is hard to get the case on the first time. The fit is very snug, so getting the entire pencil in takes some finesse, care, and a bit of elbow grease. However, that is just the first time. After that, once the plastic has had time to properly mold to the pencil, subsequent removals and insertions are much easier. However, I’ve only ever removed the pencil one or two times since buying this case, because honestly once you have the case, why would you ever go back to having a naked, boring, slippery, unprotected Apple Pencil?Just stop obsessing over the reviews, and if you like the look of the case, buy it! And no I don’t work for the company, LOL.
