Misty Mountain Men's Cadillac Harness - LG

I bought my first Misty Mountain Cadillac while living in Tennessee during the 1990s. At the time, I was a full-time guide and climbed when I was off. For three years, I climbed over 300 days a year and my Misty Mountain Cadillac was on just about every route.While designed for long multi-pitch routes and big walls, the Cadillac makes a nice all-around harness. The ability to fully adjust the waistband leg loop with actual buckles is a plus for any climber who climbs year-round and needs to deal with different layers and attire from one season to the next.While famous for its’ excellent padding, the Cadillac is especially known for its extra gear loops. Some may argue that we should be carrying less gear, not more, but it’s always nice to have the option for extra room. The extra loops also allow for a variety of sorting options if you don’t take more gear.Keeping in mind that the Cadillac is built for long routes, it does seem a little bit bulky for sport climb. I don’t mind the extra bulk from the tick padding in key areas, but I do think that some users may want to have a lighter. If you’re a route developer and hang in your harness while bolting, the extra looks and padding will be welcomed.Misty Mountain is known for comfortable and well-made harnesses. Misty Mountain also has the advantage of being made in the USA.

Great harness in general, but... A few disappointments. The only color that it says you get is blue, mine came and it’s brown. I got a great price, so I’m reasonably ok with it.I have my original Cadillac harness from 2001 (19 years) that I still actually use and LOVE! They changed a few things since my original that I don’t participate like.The webbing on the harness used to be more stiff, it’s more floppy now and a bit harder to deal with threading through the buckles. The material totally changed, which likely makes it cooler to wear in the summer, we will see. They took the Misty logo off the left leg loop... Doesn’t seem like much but it was nice to gave it there to make sure my leg loops were on the correct legs and orientation.Otherwise, great, and as I use it more and get outside with it more I’ll update this.

Super comfy harness, does get a little warm. This thing is built like a tank, and the fact that they are all hand made in North Carolina is even better. The haul loop is fully rated and I feel that this harness will work out great for route setting and some minor tree trimming.
