brews a good espresso and very tidy
This is a small espresso pot which will produce 6 espresso cups worth of coffee. When the information says “cups,” that is what they mean. The pot is really quite small and holds about the volume of one normal cup in total when filled to below the vent. It holds about 3 tablespoons of coffee in the grounds chamber. The size is very good for an individual who wants to drink strong coffee or to make cafe americano for multiple people. In terms of the quality, this brews a very nice, clear cup of espresso with a good crema. One of the unusual points about this compared to my other espresso maker (a larger version) is that it uses a filter. I'm not sure what the filter does aside from make sure that coffee grounds don't travel down back through the coffee grounds and fall back into the water chamber in the bottom. This may stop the water with some amount of coffee in it from being pushed up back through the grounds and make for a cleaner brew, but I'd be surprised if it makes much difference. I tried it both with and without the filter and didn't notice a big difference. The only negative point is that you need to replace the tiny filters if you use them, but I did learn that Aeropress filters are nearly the same size.I used this with an electric stove and it worked well. The pot didn't burn or take on scorch marks. It was easy to form a good seal when I screwed it shut. The small size also means that it doesn't take long to make a pot. All of the parts seem well-fashioned and smooth. The handle is well-attached, though I was careful not to place the pot on the stove in such a way as to heat the handle up and I didn't screw the top on or off with using the handle. The top flips up using a little tab and you can pour easily through the spout without spilling. This is another benefit it has over my larger espresso pot which sometimes leaks out the hinge in the back (and always drips if I open the lid to check on the progress of the espresso). This is a very tidy pot with no spillage or dripping. The inside cavity is slightly narrow, but I could get a dish sponge into it to clean it without any difficulty. The rubber ring on the bottom fits fine, but mine was a little looser than the one on my larger espresso pot. You need to be careful to place it in carefully to form a good seal and I needed the tip of a butter knife to pry it out for cleaning. This isn't a demerit, just a usage note. All in all, this is a cute little pot which is easy to store and makes a really good espresso brew that is clean and potent.Note: I received a free sample of this product for my assessment.

Its pretty good
AN UPDATE: I tried grinding my coffee on the extra fine setting and used the filter, oohlala great coffee. This one works fairly well. I bought the octagon shaped one originally and really liked the results. However, I did not like the fact that it was aluminum. So I decided to try this one. The design isn't as good as you cannot get all the water to go up through the funnel due to a design flaw so you don't get your 6 full espressos but the taste is good. This one never stops gurgling because of the design flaw so you can't tell by the sound when it is done. I did not feel that it took any longer than my aluminum one as some have reported. I find the filters are only necessary if you don't want the tiny bit up slug in the bottom of your cup. Also I was not wild about how the top opens as the steam burns your fingers sometimes when you try to open the top. You do need to follow the directions on the website as none came with the pot (should be provided). If you overfill you will have problems. If you don't already know how to use one you will probably mess up a few times. If you are not worried about cooking in aluminum go with the $15.00 one by bellemain.

Easy to use, just wish lid design was better.
I really like this little expresso pot and would give it 5 stars except for the lid being hard to open. Might just be because the hinge is new and snug, but the thumb tab is not big enough to really open it up - I end up having to use a spoon to lift the lid from the opening. Would have worked better if there were a knob on the top so you could pull it back. Otherwise, makes great coffee and is pretty quick to brew.

I love this espresso maker
I love this espresso maker. I usually get the style of espresso maker you usually see and I was going to buy another one and saw the price went up then I saw this one and it was a good price so I got it. Oh my goodness I will never buy a different one ever again. This makes the espresso come out nice and clean with no sentiments at the bottom of the base or in your cup, and it is very easy to clean.

Quietly and easily makes some great coffee.
This worked brilliantly for brewing a few cups for guests. It has the advantage also of being a very quiet way to make morning coffee, unlike my espresso machine. It came with plenty of filters.

cheaper and better designed.
The lid allows steam to blow back as you try and depress lid lift. Once it gets hot, mine dances on the stove top since it's not flat on the bottom. Buy IKEA's stead. It's bigger, cheaper and better designed.

This unit exploded in my kitchen like an over-sized M-80 and burned me
This unit exploded on me while I was making coffee this morning, and I do mean exploded. The force was so great that it damaged my range vent hood, sprayed super-heated steam and coffee all the way into an adjoining room, sprayed super-heated steam and coffee all over me, burned both my corneas, and now my ears won't stop ringing. I tried to locate Minchsrin's web site but have not yet been successful. The safety valve did not function and the item was being used properly.
