The Firm Body Sculpting Training
I am 55 years old. I started using this system August 1st 2011. I was trying to loose weight/inches fast for my son's wedding October 15th. I bought the VHS tapes in the 80's and had never used them because back then I was running, went to the gym regularly and was in fairly good shape. Over the years I have lost the same 10-20lbs so many times. It is so frustrating, I have tried every diet out there and always slowly gain the weight back. I am very active, rarely sitting down at home. I also have been walking 2-5 miles on mountainous roads 5 days per week for over two years with little change to anything except my legs. I do have great stamina so I'm sure it is helping my heart. I walk very fast and can cover five miles 1-1/2 hours to two hours. We eat healthy and nutritious meals and snacks and eat most of our meals at home. If I do anything I should not it's probably going to be too many beers on the weekend. I do drink Ultra to limit my calories without giving up good taste. Okay, I wanted you to have some background because this system has done more for me in 10 weeks than anything I have ever done! I did Body Sculping Basics with Susan Harris almost every day for 10 weeks. I started with no weights and worked my way up to the recommended. I followed this tape exactly as directed unless something hurt my back and then I just backed off and modified what I was doing, never stopping until she does. If I was sore I would soak in a tub or hot shower and take some ibuprofin and be fine the next day. You cannot use the heavy weights every day but you can do the workout every day and change your weights to light then heavy every other day. I usually took Sunday's off. It is amazing. I did this in my living room 1 hour per day at least 5-6 days per week. My husband is delighted. He say's I look hot. I can wear my size 6 and 8's again. I no longer have belly fat and have lost 15 pounds without dieting AT ALL! My friends and family have noticed how strong I am and my muscles stand out. Everyone is asking me what I'm doing. I look great. Damn, why didn't I do this in the 80's!! I bought the DVD set and will try it next.

Difficult, powerful, women WAY too skinny.
The "The Firm Body Sculpting System: Total Muscle Shaping!" is great, makes you sweat, and is great at combining lower and upper body work, along with cardio. Definitely keeps your heart pumping. My one critique: the women who are in the background are SO completely skinny, it's actually hard to watch them. Two are bordering on anorexia. The instructor has a beautiful body, you can tell she is healthy and works very hard on her body (outside of the Firm tapes for sure). There is really no reason to have such skinny women on, especially since previous Firm tapes have had nice, healthy, lean, fit women on them. It seems they are sinking to the lowest common denominator. But all in all, a good workout. About 5-10 min of the 40 min total is using the bench on an incline, so if you are like me and don't have the box, you have to improvise. But no big deal, not wasting $30 on a plastic box.

Some assembly required....but amazing!
I had purchased the whole system when it was originally introduced. The system came with a step (the Fanny Lifter), and a weighted bar (the Sculpting stick). Now, I was never in better shape in all the 45 years I've been alive than when I was doing this system, but time marches on and bits and pieces of this system were lost or broken. Upon discovering the DVDs were available on Amazon I purchased all 3, and to make up for my lost fanny lifter, and sculpting stick I bought a set of 3 lb free weights, a basic workout step, and a weighted bar. It works perfectly! I am so happy. If you stick with this program you'll feel great!

releasing those pounds
I need something extra to take me to the next phase of working out at home after using the Walk away the pound dvds. This dvds are not for the fate at heart. The instructors go very fast and at times I get lost with all the step aerobics but i do sweat a lot trying to keep up. I like the MaxCardio Burn dvd the best.The only con is all the props used during the work. I dislike having to switch out the bar to the hard weights to the steps.

Great workout, but too fast between sets
This is a great workout, that is only 45 minutes total with warm up and cool down. I am an advanced exerciser and I found the Instructor does not give you sufficient time between different exercises. If a beginner exerciser tried to keep up, they may injure themselves. Example, going from lying overhead tricep pull downs to chest flys. Need time to transition from holding 1 weight and 2. I was a sweaty mess though when I was finished, so I'm still pleased with the intensity of the workout.

The Firm really does give you results
I got this 4pack of dvds which seems to be second in the series from the Firm Body Sculpting System with fanny lifter (step) that I already own. I loved the first and wanted more variety. This "system" of exercise has given me awesome results and helped get me over my exercise plateau. I do this daily! Like all fitness routines, you have to actually do something and work. Sorry, no magic 3 minute workout here! But, if you want to be toned and fit and lose weight and you're willing to put in the work..This is it! The Firm incorporates light weight repetition with cardio which is more effective than cardio alone.

Great DVD Set
I have owened a couple of the Firm DVD before this one. They both challaged me, and were great. The results that I am getting from working with these DVDs are great. I found this set to be challenging too. I used my regular step instead of the fanny lifter, and I used weights to replace the sculpting stick. Most the low rating reviews I read didn't stop me from buying this DVD and I am glad. People need to know that the rating should be for the DVD it self, not what it didn't come with!!! Believe me there are results on my body after working out with those DVDs.

Great system!
This is a wonderful program for beginners and intermediates. There are 4 discs in the program (one is strictly abs) but I haven't had to use it yet because the ab routine at the end of each of the 3 DVD's does the trick. You will absolutely see results after 10 workouts...I saw them in about 7. I don't find them boring at all and I've been rotating through the 3 discs for about 6 weeks now.
