I make a lot of purses & assorted bags. This is a cute pattern but I wasn’t overly impressed with their method of installing the top zipper. The instructions overall are pretty good. The color photos in the instructions are very nice and helpful. I will probably make another one of these but will definitely rethink the top zipper installation.

A wonderful and useful purse pattern. Maybe not the easiest one for a beginning sewer, but the instructions are very clear and there is a photo with each step. It took me about three hours to cut all the pieces and gather sewing supplies, then made the purse the next day in about five hours. The two zipper installations are breeze, and I've received several compliments on my new purse when I go out. Plenty of pockets, lightweight - until it's loaded, of course.... ;-} If a "scrappy" look is desired, this bag could be made with quite a few different fabrics instead of the five that the pattern calls for.

Nancy Green writes the best patterns I have ever used! Her directions are clear and concise and her pictures are so helpful. Just follow the directions as written and I always come out with a beautiful bag. Love the Barbados bag! Its exactly the kind of bag I like to carry. I will definitely be making more of these bags.

I love this pattern! Easy to follow instructions. Love how the Zippers go in. I think I will change how the straps attach if I make it again.
