I have a few of these now and I was very excited to get this in such a huge size for the price. The best part of this lamp is I can plug it in by my bed. NO USB. Those previously purchased were small compared to this and had to be by a commuter. I came back to buy another but saw they were out of stock. BUMMER! I need 2 for the kids rooms. They love them. They create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. They bring tranquility in a house full of running around. They are nice at bedtime to settle down to. I really enjoy the Himalayan Salt lamps.I love the glowing, peaceful look as I fall asleep.I am an asthmatic and suffer all winter long with breathing and sinus issues. I feel this has helped tremendously. So I think it does purify the air nicely. .I bought the 5 pound light. It is approximatelky7 inches tall with a light wood base. White cord that plugs in the wall with an on and off switch you can reach. I am very glad I purchased lamp and will be purchasing more in the future. I highly recommend this for anyone.I purchased this item at full price and the opinions stated in this review are unbiased and of my own personal opinion. I bought two of the 5lb rocks for each side of the bed for ambiance and a night light for my daughter. The salt is coarse and unmolded - it will rub off in your hand if you touch it. The stand is very sturdy and has several divots so you can position it how you want without the cord getting in the way. The larger rocks come with a cord on/off switch rather than having to plug and unplug each day and is ultra convenient. Depending on how dark the salt is will determine how much light it gives off - we happened to get a deep dark pink and a very light pink and the light pink lights up the room quite a bit - I block some of the light with a book so it doesn't bother me if I turn towards it while sleeping. It gets slightly warm, but not warm enough that you need to avoid it touching other things. The benefits are various - I love them and will probably buy more for around the whole house.

I got the 2lb one, it's a cute lil' lamp. I noticed my room smelled a bit better after I plugged it in for an hour...but maybe that was a placebo effect? It's cold so I guess it's not teeeechnically working. I bought it for the apparent effect it can have on anxiety. I'm not fidgeting as badly as I usually do and my cat (who also has anxiety) is completely conked out. So even if it won't help a person by much, THINK OF YOUR HOUSE PETS. It's also not as pink as I was hoping, but I'm not really complaining since it looks really pretty and my congestion is easing a bit. I've been sick for a time, hoping I don't wheeze tonight. <3 If I could go back and buy the 5lb rock though, I probably would. :3 But 2lbs is okay too. <3

I bought one as a gag gift for one son, another for my daughter-in-law, and the third for myself, just to see what they're all about. I LOVE THIS LITTLE LAMP! It sits on my kitchen counter, and after our evening meal & clean up, the lights go out and this little lamp sheds just enough light to see around the kitchen, and it's signals to everyone "Kitchen is Closed". I gave it 4 stars because there is a portion of the lamp that lets more light through than other sections, and if you look at that, it hurts your eyes. But not enough to deter me,,,,,bought a 4th for the last son as an "extra" Christmas gift.

This lamp is a perfect nightlight for my 2 little guys bedroom. I will say that mine made crazy puddles from releasing the moisture, but having read about salt lamps previous to purchasing one I assumed it may puddle and put it on a deep rimmed kids plate (plastic IKEA kids plate) and it was no biggie.For people complaining about the screws being rusty- um.. well, salt erodes metals, so that's inevitable.My only shock was that the cord was a USB plug.. I didn't remember reading that in the description anywhere. It was easily solved, I just hadn't expected it.The lamp was amazing until my 2 yo literally cut the cord and killed it. I may be able to find a replacement cord/base, but for the price I'd just assume to buy another lamp.

I ordered one for my son and his wife as a gift and decided I would really like one too so ordered a second one. The first one came, and I set it up. Just beautiful! Rich shades of orange; it is like a living thing. The second didn't end up making it for Christmas, so I gifted that one. I just got the second one today, and, wow... um... really??? It is white, not pink, or orange, although there are a few brownish rust colored marks on it. As much as I loved the first one, I am SO disappointed with the second. I got the first one at a better price too. I am glad I had that one for the gift. I would have been embarrassed to give the second. I suppose I should just return the sad one.

This came today, the big 7lb one, as a gift from my youngest daughter. The base is pretty beat up and the entire lamp sits crooked, wanting to fall over. I have it sitting on a cloth to balance it. The bulb was smashed to bits inside. I'll by some bulbs tomorrow. I'm sure it'll work fine when I plug it in, she'll be so disappointed if it doesn't as she put a lot of effort into getting it for me.Those who are complaining about bulb replacement and non heated rocks, each product description states if the bulb is changeable or not, and if it heats. It all depends on the size.My only issue is that the base is jacked up like it was scrubbed hard, and it sits crooked, but eventually I'll fix that issue with a self-made base. I will add more info once I plug it in.
