Easy to replace
First off, I would like to state that this is not something you would want to place in your gorgeous brand new bathroom but, if like me, you're in an older house with a terrible landlord that doesn't like to fix things, this is perfect. It arrived within a day and was so much easier than expected. Installation was beyond simple. I really do mean that. I'm a single mom who is newly legally blind and I was able to do it myself with some assistance from the nosey 8 year old. 5 minutes to remove the old part and another 7 or 8 to put it back together. Beware that you will need the original hairpin clip (aka carter pin) or to buy your own. Totally could have rigged it with a paper clip if I didn't have the right part though. Remove the screws, remove the old flapper and faceplate, pull out the "dangly long thing" that is what actually seals the tub overflow (yes my dad the real live plumber cringed when I said that). Clean the gook off. Be prepared to want to die at the slimy grossness but also be thankfull it's not as nasty as when you clean the hair out of the drain. Then put the new parts where the old parts were and drop it back down the hole. Put the faceplate in place and screw it back on. Celebrate with cake and the knowledge that a plumber would generally charge $150-$175 for a service call and it only cost about $10 for the DIY fix. Also, it's been installed for a month without any signs of rusting or wear and we have moderately hard water on LI.

ferrous screws, reported to rust, use your old ones
Someone else reported the enclosed screws will rust. I tested them with a magnet, they do have iron in them. This does not absolutely prove they are not stainless, because there are some stainless formulas that are magnetic (I found out recently). But my old screws have no iron and no problems, so I just used them. Sorta amazing this fits my 70 year old tub from the 1950's. That's what made this such and easy fix. The old cover failed at the ring molded on the back the back of it.

works Perfectly
Our old handle broke off. Was a little bummed that I had to buy the whole thing but once we got it I was happy I did. It fit perfectly and actually improved the look of the tub too!

Worked well after some adjustment of the drain chain
I had to readjust the drain stopper chain to adapt to the new cover, but it worked.
