This is an accurate barometer - will buy additional units for gifts

It Does Function
It's cheap and cheesy, but it does move with the pressure. I took the unit out of the rubber cover and was very underwhelmed. It needs to be adjusted to your current barometric pressure. That requires a tiny screwdriver, for, like, glasses screws. It's a process, and will take some time as the needle isn't precise. The center of the glass is slightly off from the center of the face on mine. But, after time, it reports the pressure about where I adjusted it to, and goes up and down with the pressure. As advertised.

I am a fisherman and decided to start paying more attention to barometric pressure to select my days on the water. I had one just like it several years ago and it stopped working after about a year. Hope this one lasts longer. So far, no correlation between pressure and fishing success. But, I own a lot of other devices that haven't helped me catch fish either.

Junk
This thing is junk dont wast your time or money. Very inaccurate. After following all the instructions it still was way off and the slightest little bump and the needle moves alot. Definitely do not recommend it wish I could give it negative stars

Accurate
I live about 2 miles from my local airport. I use the airport pressure gauge as a reference on weather.gov. This little fishing barometer has matched the airport gauge each day I check it. It's fun to look at it with the wife before we decide if it's worth going to the river or not. I've only had it a week but so far I've noticed a flurry of local catching reports when the gauge is in the "great" condition. We lost a big salmon at the boat last week during "great" pressure condition. Barometer is easy to calibrate using a jeweler's screwdriver. A+.

Not very accurate
Not very accurate.UPDATE; I took the cover off and sprayed some WD40 into it and it seems to work a little better.

Mikey likes it!
My older brother's friend said if I move the knob-pointer over to the grey-area, the weather will get nasty in a couple days as the red pointer catches up.Mine doesn't seem to work that way... :^)Just kidding. This is about the size of a hockey puck - 3'1/4"x1'1/4". The rubber-ish 'tire' around it has a good tactile feel, and helps soften the knocks it will get over time. Pleasant to hold. Sits well flat on its' back and looks good on a desk, or bench or wherever it may need to go. I like the 'face' of this, too. Color coded in a way, pleasant to look at.(only downside is - made in china, but then, the price is right and it seems well made and works smoothly)

Not Very Accurate. Easily Knocked Off Target.
This barometer was harder to calibrate than its instructions suggested. Just by moving the needle into position with the back screw, a very light tap or any movement at all, really, could knock the needle off by up to .08 or so inHg. That's a lot. After futzing with it some more and tightening the screw all the way and back a few times and then calibrating again, I got it to where it takes a more moderate tap to knock it out of place and only by .02 - .04 inHg; still not great, honestly. Also, the needle sometimes sticks and REQUIRES a light tap to get it to move. Damned if you do.But other than that *eye-roll* it's a perfectly functional barometer and will keep pace with pressure changes, as you'd expect (tested about 900ft above sea level). Even so, its accuracy isn't that fine. It's only marked out by every .02 inHg and the needle is too fat to read anything finer than that, anyway. But if all you want is to track very broad pressure trends, I suppose this will do the job. I guess that's why it's marketed as a tool for fishing. If you need more precision than that, I definitely wouldn't recommend this one.As for its durability/use as a field tool: Well, it's got a thick, soft-plastic covering that seems pretty durable and should keep it in one piece if you drop it. Your calibration will be shot to hell if that happens, but at least it won't be broken. The tether it comes with is reasonably sturdy and about the right size to wear on your wrist or hang from a hook. It's too small to put around your neck.
