I can't find an answer from anything on amazon but does anyone know what an "open order" means?

They’re behind on production right now. Once they’re caught up it will ship. I believe “open order” simply means unfulfilled at this time. My order took a month to receive.

How do you cook this if you have no power?

The food inside the pouches has already been cooked so it just requires water to be re-hyrdrated. Hot or cold water will work, but we prefer hot water so the meal is warm. You can heat up the water on a camping stove if you have no power.
