THE B E S T BRACE !
This item is truly, "The Best"! You can forget about all the other braces for a Dropped Foot!! This is, by far, THE BEST! Why? Super supportive..lightweight..easy to put on/take off..non-slip..wear during the day.. fits in shoes/sandals/sneakers...improves circulation to the foot...low profile. You bend it to the 90° angle, one time, and that's it. My husband has had a Dropped Foot since the late 90's. Can't tell you how much money we've spent on clumsy, obvious orthotics.... I, as his wife & caretaker, when needed, have spent hours on my cell researching orthotics that would be supportive, incomspicuous, lightweight, non-slip....etc. So his previous orthotic, which we liked very much, but still went up his leg (ugh!), the velcro was no longer sticking. So I'd have to buy it again. But... I thought before doing that, let me see if a newer, better version exists.... I'm so glad I took the time to look. I know this brace is supposed to be Only For Night time Sleeping, but my husband wears it only, All Day Long!! Yes, that's right. He's not eadsy to please, but when I first this brace on him, he was in love w it... Because I was trying to make it less obvious because it's black, I wrapped the ankle part w the Skin Colored Self Adhesive Bandage Wrap, just cause I wanted to, not cause it's needed. I was trying to make it even less obvious.... it was a good idea. My husband likes to walk barefoot in the house, and this brace is non slip.... really!! Like always, we must all be careful how & where we walk.... This Brace is a WINNER!! Next week I will buy a 2nd one, so we're set for whatever.... Love This Brace!!

They work and are light weight, may need some adjusting to get comfortable
They work and are light weight. Other reviews complain about them being painful and digging into the top side of your ankle, but you just need to bend the piece to right shape. This may mean more than one bend or basically trying to create an arch in it, and then it doesn't dig into you like others are saying. So it takes some trial and error, but within 15 minutes I was able to get it into a conformable position. That being said, I think there are better, probably more comfortable options but no where near as light weight.

Fixes one problem, causes another.
I liked that you could adjust the amount of bend in the foot. I liked the soft material. But that is about all that I can recommend. I agree with others that the top band is too small for those with larger calf sizes. And while it worked great for the planters pain when I woke up in the morning, the pain from the bar digging into the base of my big toe all night has bruised it so much that I can’t walk at all. Returning.

Could have been designed better
I have only worn them one night, but during the night I woke up having to remove them. The brace that goes around the ankle area - which by the way is rather small - put so much pressure on the ankle to hold up the foot that the skin got itchy and raw from the strap. I would suggest wearing socks with this at night. They are easier to wear than the last type I had which was a Chinese puzzle to put on. The good points - it does a fair job of holding your foot in dorsiflexion, the toes are free so you don't feel hot and suffocated, but if you are elderly or very big-bellied it might be hard to put these on as it takes a fair amount of leaning over your foot and strapping it in. I noticed when I took them off during the night, my feet wanted to stay in a dorsiflexed position more than usual (I have Achilles tendon issues, plantar fasciitis and foot drop). I think these could help retrain me, if I can get past the amount of pressure on the ankle to ratchet the foot up. I can't say these are amazing - I wish someone would design a soft slipper-like boot with a rigid back so you can just wear sock-boots with a skeleton in it. Definitely like having my feet not covered so they breathe during the night. The velcro didn't seem to catch on the bedding like the other brand I had before. For the price, these will do. Definitely suggest the socks though.

Not comfortable for sleeping
Once you get them adjusted, they’re great. You can adjust the toe and leave it so you only have to put it around your calf. The metal can be bent a little more or less to your preference. Just don’t cinch it too tight or you’ll wake up in the night with your circulation cutting off and have to re-adjust. I could tell a difference from the first time I wore them. If you have plantar fasciitis, use these at night in conjunction with fasciitis compression socks during the day. You’ll start to have relief almost immediately. Make sure you place them like shown in the picture, tho. Behind the ball of the foot, with your toes sticking all the way out. After a couple months of use, I’ve decided that these aren’t the best for me. I Really need to stretch my tendons a lot harder and in order to that with this brace you have to bend that metal bar across the top a lot more and still keep them strapped on real tight. While that’s okay for a short period of time it becomes really uncomfortable in the night and I wake up and Have to take them off because it’s hurting me. I’m giving the ones that have the strap from below the knee to the toe a try to see if they give me more ‘stretch’ and if I can bear to wear them through the night.
