WORTH BUYING! AMAZING SET!
So I went through many products, read many reviews and tested out different brands before I purchased this set of sketching pencils. I was a little skeptical at first when I bought these, but I'm here to tell you, the positive reviews you see are true.I'm an amateur artist who just got back into sketching. I had a few different cheap sets of sketching pencils and really didn't think that they affected the quality of the art produced. However, after getting these pencils, I realize that good quality pencils actually do make a huge difference. From the actual flow of sketching to the frequency of sharpening, these pencils are 100% worth the cost. I tried out a cheap set (General's) from Michael's, then a more expensive set (Faber Castell), and even purchased a few individual Derwent pencils. Out of all of those brands, I still recommend this set. These pencils will out perform those other brands 110% hands down. Not only do you get GREAT quality, the presentation is also extremely nice. It comes in a nice metal box, that keeps the tips of the pencils from breaking.Overall, it's cheaper than the Faber Castell set at Michael's and the quality surpasses any beginner or intermediate set by far. I would definitely recommend to any amateur/novice/intermediate and even pro level artists out there!

My favorite.
This pencil is well-suited for illustration work, especially if you're aiming for precise, sharp lines. I've experimented with numerous pencils, and I find this one to be the best when it comes to creating illustrations, particularly when sketching models or drawing intricate facial features like small eyes, noses, and mouths. It's also great for achieving a fine, crisp outline. Personally, it's my favorite pencil, and I have a strong affection for it. I plan to continue purchasing it. The shipping is fast, and the packaging is done well.

Really nice drawing pencils
I buy lots of pencils for drawing and I would rate these as being in the top group of all my pencils. They are almost on par with the Faber Castell 9000s. They do only go up to 6b so you will need other pencils to get your really dark darks, but they do offer a good gradation from the 4h to the 6b. I'm a big fan of pencils made in Germany and Japan so I was expecting these to be good and I haven't been disappointed.

Good
Nice pencils. They seem well made and they are easy to sharpen. The lead is smooth with no grit. Even though they are smooth, they are much harder than comparable grades of Japanese drawing pencils, but I expected that. They seem comparable to Faber Castell 9000 pencils, if not slightly softer when comparing grades. The only thing I don't really like is the font that says "Art Design" on the pencils. It seems a little juvenile, but I can live with it.

Smooth writing, acceptable erasing
These are a nice pencil which have a nice, smooth feel for drawing. When testing side by side with two other brands I have, Derwent and Koh-I-Noor, these as more quiet due to the soft and smooth flow across the paper. (Not that any of my pencils are loud. Of course all are quiet but if you are trying to compare brands this one has a less scratchy sound.) I only gave them 4 stars though because in my testing when I shaded an area using the 6B with all three brands, and then tried erasing a line through each block I found that the Derwent had a more responsive and clean erasure, both at one swipe and after a few back and forth marks. However, these Lyras did erase well enough, and if I didn't have the Derwents I might have just said that the Lyras erase very nicely. The difference is quite noticable though, so if erasure marks are really important to you to get a bright white, you might want to try Derwents. But I do like the smoothness of the graphite marks with these Lyras. They are a very solid choice.

Excellent product and good cost value.
I have worked with graphite for many years. This set is comprehensive and excellently crafted. I have a degree in studio art with an emphasis In drawing and they were beyond what my expectations were. Will purchase this brand again. These were well priced based on comparable brands and sets.

Nice pencils
They are awesome! I've used them for some drawings now and it has been great. These pencils are soft and lightweight, so it's easy to draw with them, no pressure needed. Before I've used some cheaper pencils, and these have been a good way to go for a more professional product. If i need another ones, I'd buy them again.

Wasn't impressed
Wasn't impressed. Hb was very scratchy, especially when compared to both leading brands and cheaper ones. This was my biggest complaint. The grade color didn't go dark enough for me. I had a 2b in another leading brand that went darker than the 6b in this one. Just can't see paying the same amount for these as I could get a better brand for the same price. I went with faber castell 9000 and I'm super satisfied.
