Bought these for a dresser in brown, liked them and they did the job so I ordered another set a few years later. Just opened them after moving (return window is closed) and they’re black instead of brown.

These latches were perfect for keeping my twins out of their dresser drawers! We tried several different types of magnetic latches, but our drawers are designed in such a way that none of them fit. Looking desperately for another option (one twin has learned how to climb out of the crib and the dresser is the primary target of mischief!), I found these latches. I love that they are available in brown to match the finish on our dresser, as they are unobtrusive and nothing like the eyesore I was expecting from external latches. And the best part of all--they work miracles! My twins get aggravated by being unable to open the drawers and give up quickly. One note: since the latches are only on one side of the drawers, the other side opens just a touch. My kids can get their fingertips in, but are still unable to open the drawers enough to get things out.The only drawback I've seen is that my puppy grabbed one of the latches in his mouth as I was putting things in the drawer, and in 3 seconds had nibbled a tear in the strap. Now even when the drawer is closed, he is able to get that edge in his teeth, and I'm afraid it won't survive another nibble. The other latches (without a jagged edge), he is unable to get in his teeth to cause damage.EDIT: I dropped my rating to 3 stars because my twins figured out (with just a little bit of time) how to get these open and closed. They were opening the latch, pulling clothes out, and closing the latch back up before I even knew they had mastered the mechanism. I thought maybe they were able to get into the side of the drawer that wasn't latched. So I bought another set for the other side of the drawers. When clothes were still "magically" appearing on the floor, I realized that had outsmarted me. I ended up buying a different set of latches with a different locking mechanism that was simpler to understand but harder for little hands and weaker grips to open. These adhered to our wooden cabinets just fine and blended in quite well also. They lock securely but are easy to unlock quickly once you understand how they work. They can be unlocked and opened with one hand with no difficulty. I did have to bend a couple around some awkward corners due to our kitchen design and they worked surprisingly well in those situations, and still locked securely even at those strange angles. I would recommend measuring before you put them on and using a small pencil mark to mark where they need to stick before actually sticking them on but this isn't required, it just might make things easier. As long as you get them level on the same horizontal line, the length can be adjusted even after they are stuck on easily. I would recommend you give these a shot if you don't mind them being visible on the outside of the cabinets.

HAD to come here after spending some time removing my SIX sets of these from my brand new cabinets/drawers/doors/etc over four years ago. WORTH EVERY CENT! Not only is my property NOT damaged in ANY way from these (upon proper removal using a hair dryer), but my fingers are not too sore and I'm not too annoyed with the whole project to come look up a years old purchase and add my positive review for other parents out there. Sad to see these go, but happy they saved the fingers of my boys and the countless kiddos here over the years.

These are GREAT for baby proofing. We put these on our cabinets in the bathroom and the kitchen and they have helped our little one stay away from anything dangerous or just to keep him from making a mess by pulling everything out of the cabinets! They are easy to install, very durable and feel like they will last as long as we need them to! They are also very easy to open/close! We even have bathroom cabinets that don’t have flat surfaces, they have sort of a rounded detailed instead of a flat area to attach to. And they are staying in place perfectly! I’ve even watched my little one pull with all his might on the cabinets and the adhesive doesn’t even budge! They also look beautiful and they don’t look “cheap” like other brands. We will definitely purchase again if we find that we need more for other areas! Definitely highly recommend!
