First time I used it it tipped over in my lunch bag and I found out IT IS NOT LEAKPROOF! Quit a bit spilled out. I fiddled with the lid and the slide opening to see if maybe I hadn't closed it securely, but in the end it's not spill proof at all. I'm disappointed as this is one of my main requirements. Other than that, it certainly keeps things cold - but so do a lot of tumblers. Also, I'm not sure I like the stainless steel straw as it gets very cold and feels weird on my teeth. Probably will return this item and keep looking.SO THIS IS MY UPDATE: Johnny from the seller read this review and contacted me immediately saying they wanted to make sure I was happy with the Chill Cup since they believe it is spill proof. They sent me a coupon for a free re-order, which I did. Turns out the first cup was an older version of the lid. The second cup was much better but still leaked if tipped over. I told Johnny this, and he said they wouldn't stop until I was happy. He gave me some suggestions that worked (turn the lid slightly after putting on). And now my cup is exactly what I wanted it to be! Amazing customer service - thank you!!

Cup is great. Straw was defective. It has a hole in it that obviously prevents suction.Update 12/30/16. Due to original review, I was contacted by Johnny from Chill Cup and sent 2 new straws and straw cleaning brushes that were flawless! Great customer service!Update 2/9/18. Love love love this cup!!! It is my favorite cup and use it every day and night. I can’t remember when I drank a warm drink from this cup. Ice stays unmelted overnight and into the next day. Will not be disappointed!

I bought this to replace an old Starbucks cup and straw. I liked that this one was made of steel and had a steel straw. One the good side, it is solid and well insulated, easily holding an iced drink cold for many hours; it is not uncommon to wake up with ice in the cup from the night before. The stainless steel straw that comes with it is stylish and easy to clean with the included brush, though drinking from a straw that gets as cold as your drink takes a bit of getting used to. For this reason among others, I would not suggest using this with the straw for hot beverages. It comes apart and goes together easily.On the negative side, the first thing I'll mention is:- The lid. While it goes on and comes off easily, it does not screw on. It is held in by a large rubber ring that I am concerned will not wear well. Further, if you ever drop your cup the lid comes flying off, something that does not happen with a screw on lid. When the straw is in, the opening around it also allows spills if the cup tips over, something other types of lids do not necessarily do.-The brand name. It's written across the cup in large, friendly letters. I do not like this; I only advertise for companies if they pay me.-The price. While I know that I bought a brand name product and expected to pay a slight premium, I did not expect to find the same exact product on Amazon for half the price. Minus the large, friendly letters of course.So, the verdict is that this is a fine, if expensive, cup, a good straw, and a mediocre-at best-lid.EDIT: One thing I do have to say is that their customer service is excellent. They contacted me after this review and shared the reasons for some of the design decisions on this cup, shared the changes for the next version which will fix most of my complaints, and even gave me a silicone tip cover for the straw. Certain A+ customer service and a thoughtful company. That gets them the extra starts.

The Chill cup was just what I was looking for, a cup with a larger capacity that keeps drinks cold for hours. Living in the desert southwest can really test the way some of these cups perform. I'm happy to report that the Chill Cups keep drinks ice cold even in the desert southwest! I ordered the cups and in just a couple of days my order arrived, which was before the estimated delivery date. After the unboxing and a thorough hand washing (Chill cups are not dishwasher safe) which was made easy because there are no sharp edges and the diameter of the cup allows one to get their hand into the cup to wash. One comment on cleaning before use, even after my initial cleaning I was able to detect a strange taste in the water that I drank from the cup. I determined that it was coming either from the plastic lid or the rubber gasket that seals the lid to the cup surface. I took a chance and separated the lid and the gasket and put the lid and gasket in the dishwasher on the top shelf and ran it though one cycle. Problem solved, no more funny taste.I think that this cup package that they have put together is a great value! You get the 18/8 stainless steel 30 oz cup (obviously), stainless straw, 1 straw cleaning brush and a logo cork coaster all for a lot less than you'll pay for some of the high end competitors. Way to go Chill cups, I raise my cup with icy cold water in it to you! No hurry thou the water will be icy cold for quite some time...

feel I got a great deal here. The price was more than fair for what you receive. I read a lot of reviews for other similar tumblers. I am not sure why someone would spend 3-4x more for a popular named tumbler that is basically the same as this one. I really just use this tumbler for ice water. It keeps the water very cold and ice is still in the tumbler the following day. I don't care if it is 15 or 24 hours, it serves my purpose! It holds plenty of water, keeps it cold which makes me drink a lot more water. I purchased a handle for this which I feel makes the tumbler that much better. Much easier to hold and drink. I would highly recommend one to purchase a handle to go with this tumbler as it can get a little heavy with a full cup of ice and water.This tumbler is great on hot days to leave in a hot car. You come back and the water is still ice cold. Couldn't be happier.This is an honest and unsolicited review. I did not receive a discount to try this tumbler. Simply went on reviews and price.
