Suitable for the purpose I needed it for, as trim for a fireplace that has a 3' diameter half-circle hearth extension. Bends like a very thick rubber band but I don't think it will span across a very wide gap without good support and properly spaced nailing. It holds to nailing well. I would never use it stained, as I could never get it to look like "real wood". It seems to have a not-very-realistic, and barely perceptible, "wood grain" texture imprinted on the surface and "can be" stained but it looked like, likely because it is, a stained piece of synthetic material when I was done. It's possible but would take ages and a real artist to make the stain real-wood looking when placed next to real stained wood. Painted is a different story. It looks like painted wood. Takes wood filler and sanding well enough and once painted, it looks good.
