Worked better than expected on running board
I have a 1942 Plymouth. Original running boards were brown and faded badly. Previous owner had replaced one with a black one that looked great, but had painted the other one with some kind of rattle can. I've had the car 17 years and never got around to fixing the running board. I emailed customer service at SEM and even though they couldn't recommend their product for running boards (they could not guarantee durability) they were fabulous at responding to my questions. I purchased it anyway, sanded the old paint to rough it up to blend in all the bare spots, and put two coats on. It came out completely indistinguishable from the replaced running board. I mean to say it looks perfect! It's only been done for about three weeks so I can't say how durable it will be over the years, but it was so easy to apply that if I have to renew it in a couple of years I'll still be happy. And I have stood on it with my shoes and it has not scuffed up at all. If it will hold up on a bumper, I think it should hold up on a running board. And new running boards are $400.00 per pair.

Perfect bumper paint
Nothing I can really say about this, it's a can of bumper coat, black, that is flexible. I've used this stuff for years on bumpers and it works great and holds up well. It really restores the look if you've got old, dull, scuffed up bumpers. SEM is a great brand and offer a wide variety of other paints you should check out as well.

Wow!!! Highly recommend!!!
I never write reviews, but felt the need to on this product. I was undecided about this at first, but finally gave it a shot about a year ago on my Tacoma front hard plastic highly faded bumper. Worked like wonders! It has been over a year, and still looks new. I finally broke down, and did my back bumper plastic, metal section under front bumper and cowl this week. This stuff is the real deal, and gives a “new” look.First, I washed and allowed selected areas to dry. Second, lightly sanded with gray scuff pad. Third, cleaned with alcohol and let air dry. Fourth, tape off area (longest step) and paint. I did 2-3 coats.I am just starting on my third can, after giving the second can to a co-worker because he could not believe the results. He ended up doing same steps on his wife Lexus, and his Dodge Ram. He was also highly impressed with the results.

Love the Matte finish - touches up well.
This stuff is great. I used it to paint a front splitter for a Camaro. Nice matte black that touches up extremely well. You cannot see touchups.... It wears great, touchups are for road rash. I have repaired the splitter a few times. This stuff blends right in with a new coat!

Great Stuff!
I can't tell you how impressed I am with this product. It has a very nice finish to it that replicates what the factory would be. I have been using it to paint the interior of my jeep. I tried another cheap paint, and it looked greasy and "heavy" once it dried, and I didn't care for the finish at all. This here dries very nicely, lays down great and and extremely happy with the color. I only wish it wasn't so expensive, but after you see the results, the price is justified. Amazon is the cheapest place I was able to find it as well. In the box store in was $20, and the shipping at other sites were crazy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with faded plastic, looking to restore the factory appearance.

Goes on nice.
SEM paints are noticeably better than most competitors, but just barely. The problem is they are not as easy to come by and they are more expensive. If I could find this paint at the same price and on the same aisle in a parts store, I'd pick it every time. If you don't care about price or waiting for delivery, then this is the one for you.

Excellent Product to Cover Plastic Bumper Scratches
I scraped my rear bumper on my 22 Honda Ridgeline on a concrete light pole base in a parking lot. A new bumper cost $400 + install, so I thought what's to lose by sanding it and using this flexible bumper coater. I watched a few YT videos and It took more time to figure out what grit of sandpaper and scotchbrite to get it reasonably smooth. I applied three light coats of this SEM coater and it turned out really well. You can still tell if you get about 12" but beyond that it looks great. Highly recommended.

Want your 10 year old Jeep to look new again? Look no further!
We own a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Black with a Black hard Top. All the trim (front/rear bumpers/side steps/hood latches/door handles/fuel opening trim, and cap, etc.) that used to be black had faded to a REALLY yucky gray! We tried using Armorall, (didn’t look much improved, and faded away in no time) in addition to a couple other sealant/restorer type products...with totally unsatisfactory result. Then I heard about SEM (a CA. based company that developed a bumper coater paint designed to match original equipment manufacturer appearance). The ratings were good, and I decided to make this a Mother’s Day pressie for my wife (who almost exclusively drives the Jeep). Let me explain...this is really a 3 part project.First, you clean parts to be restored with SEM Scuff and Clean. Then, after masking off the areas you don’t want painted, you apply SEM Plastic and Leather Prep. Finally, you use the SEM Bumper Coater. All I have to say is WOW!It was a lot of work, and you had to follow each step correctly, and in the proper order. (In addition, I also applied multiple coats of the Bumper Painter). It was well worth the effort. Many folks have asked when we bought a new Jeep? Answer is: Nope...Didn’t. It’s been on for 6 weeks, and while I can’t comment about long term longevity, so far it looks just as good as the moment I finished this project.Previously, we visited with a couple body shops about the appearance of the trim, but were quoted between $1,500, and nearly $2k to fix it. That definitely was not in our budget! The hardest part for me was masking off possible overspray areas. It took a couple hours to mask the rear bumper area, for example. I decided, though before tackling this job I was going to make my absolute best effort. The smile on my wife’s face at the reveal was awesome! If you have the time, and don’t mind some effort I think you’ll be pleased.
