It's a good start to learn the basics before you dive into another R tutorial. I would skip the portion on graphics though and learn the package ggplots instead as it has more capabilities.

Not worth the buck
The poorest writing in a text book that I've ever seen. It reads like a middle schooler wrote it. I had to quit in the first chapter, as the spelling and grammar errors alone were so distracting. If you want drama and excitement for a 12 year old, it's fine.A waste of money. From the introduction:Now, for some individuals, R language initially can emerge real intimidating. Well, which is often not essentially, for the reason that, it's way more complex than other languages, but because the syntax of R Programming is relatively different from those of several other programming languages. Numerous professional programming language writers have found R as tough! According to them, R is really pretty simple, except it is unconventional. And, with the help of this guide you’ll not only gain all the vital knowledge about learning R language efficiently, you’ll also be geared up to carry out your own initial data-analysis.Was this translated by a computer? Obviously, Mr. Alvaro does not speak proper English. Ugh. Avoid the confusion, and this book.

Does what it does
Very Good. Me ever being the geek has to point out that there a few grammatically incorrect sentences in the text. It is nothing major since it's a technical book, not Hemingway.

I never knew programming until I started purchasing book for my son about different kind of programming languages. This book has an instruction on how to get started which I guess is the primary thing everyone should know. It has instructions on how to work on code editors and the basics of R programming. I may have not understand the book but my son would definitely like it as it has all the basics he needs to know about it.

Nice edition for beginners
Learned quite a bit about R thanks to this work. It is about R and not so much on statistics, which was pleasant.

Godawful
I was 76% into the book and felt I learned nothing functionally valuable so I stopped. I have SAS, VBA, and SQL experience. I learned more in review of two small R programs than this book. If beginning in R try something else. Even the help sections in R are better. You will find more value elsewhere and be less confused in the end. The things in this book did not match real life use of R. I hate to say, but I don't recommend this book for a beginner or other.

abbastanza interessante
relativamente 'friendly', con qualche errore di troppo nelle righe di comando. Utile per un approccio veloce ai fondamentali per chi è a digiuno.

Not up to my expectations, was expecting more of coding part , but basic syntax are more , which can be studied through r PDF !! Eliminate the space , then this book will barely cover in less than 100 pages !!

Sloppy. Let down by editing
Sloppy. Let down by editing. Errors in examples. Text and code has not been fully checked by editor. Unfinished sections, with lack or pertinent information clearly required by a beginner. Being optimistic: maybe the errors were an intentional test for a beginner, as the challenge to understand did help me. Though I think not! Otherwise could have been a useful starter. If you really want it, get the Kindle version at £0.99, not the book at £13.95 + P&P.
