This is my second stem cutter. My original still works fine, but I spotted this one on sale, noting the open channel above the cutting blade as a design improvement over my old one that has full coverage of the arm of the cutter. It always got gummed up with material when in heavy use with certain plants. This one is equally effective at cutting but doesn't get plant material stuck within the swing arm. Great!
