Pure Mancha Saffron is a fragrant spice from the dried stigmas of crocus. It is an expensive product because it is hand picked, but a little goes a long way. Saffron is pungent with a beautiful yellow color, its indispensible in a number of dishes, such as bouillabaise and paella, and saffron bread is a traditional part of the Swedish Christmas feast. It is used also in liqueurs, the best known being Chartreuse.
