Value for the cost
For the price, great for light practice and no contact practice. Easy to pack and use in demonstrations. Weight is about 1:5 of my actual tai chi straight sword. The tassel is very flimsy so removed immediately. I have practiced with it daily, used it in class for demonstrations and have had no problems. I did add a screw and the tassel to the blade cap so I would not lose it laying it down in class rooms. Worth the cost.

Good Product Idea
The retractable sword itself is a great idea, but it was not sturdy enough to handle the shipping process. The item did arrive damaged on the very bottom of the handle, we glued it together but you can clearly see it was broken. For future customers I would recommend labeling the product as fragile or at least bubble wrap the bottom part of the sword.

Value for money
It fits in a backpack. We currently are using for a Tai Chi class. It works well.

Great for Sword Practice
This is a great lightweight sword for practice. It retracts so it fits into luggage. But the TSA may confiscate it if you try to take it on an airplane. The only problem is if one day you want to practice with a real sword, you have to build up your arm muscles, because this lightweight sword won't prepare you for the weight of a real sword.

Flimsy
I was so disappointed when I received this "sword." It was so flimsy I was afraid to open & close it too much & have it break. It may be ok to use for "magic tricks" but definitely not for Tai Chi practice. It doesn't give you the proper feel of the weight of a regular sword. I had bought a retractable sword for the same price many years ago & needed a new one, certainly don't make them like they used to. Everything about it felt very cheap, I guess you get what you pay for. Promptly returned & looking for a better quality retractable sword.

Great for the price
For a cheap children's gift at around $10, this sword was perfect for my 11 year old. We actually ended up ordering a second one so that he could play with a friend. It looks decently real from afar, closes easily for pretending to die or sword swallowing and had a unique almost Japanese look to it that makes him feel included with the adults who use katanas.

BREAKS VERY EASILY
My son was very excited to get this sword. Unfortunately, it broke in less than a day with just him unfurling it. Not well made for actual play.
