We recently used these while snorkeling. We discovered that you only need to inflate them about half way to work well. I used the leg straps on my first trip out, but didn't like how they worked. I found them a bit problematic. I had to keep pulling them into a comfortable position and it was actually found that to be annoying. When I used the device without the leg straps it was much more comfortable and I could concentrate on the snorkeling and enjoyed it much more. The device is easy to inflate. You do have to pull it down occasionally as it tends to ride up on your body, but I didn't find this as much of an issue. Overall I really liked using the device and would purchase them again. They fold up nice and small and didn't take up hardly any room in my luggage.

I like that the back of this is mesh so that it does not get hot and sweaty when I'm wearing it. That was one feature that made me select it. However, it's kind of weird having it inflated like an airplane safety floatation device, tube around the neck kind of thing. It's not fashionable and looks kind of nerdy. It comes with straps you can put around your legs/thighs, which I think would work if you are sitting in a kayak or something, but they don't work well for standing on a paddleboard or walking around, because they don't stay put and they slide up and down if you keep them loose enough to move about, but you have to keep those straps tight enough that they won't fall off, but not too tight! It's very hard to get them adjusted just right. This thing was cheap and on sale, which is why I bought it, and you can tell that it's cheap by looking at it. It would probably save me from drowning if I fell into a lake. It has a strap that goes around the chest to lock it down so it won't fall off. I'm a great swimmer and only wear this because I'm extra safe and there are places where I'm required to.

So compact for traveling.

Ordered S/M but way too big. Unfortunately, I was on vacation and had no options so I used safety pins (which, of course, rusted immediately in salt water) to try to take it up. I tried it on briefly at home, but assumed I could take it up to be more snug. No adjustments. The vest was very uncomfortable. I kept it deflated as much as possible but it continued to not only come up to my neck, but kept shifting around my body. I used the leg straps but they didn't help much, and the velcro kept sticking my legs together at the crotch!. I would have returned the vest if I had not used it. I would NOT recommend. I have used snorkel vests in the past but never had this much trouble. I only bought a new one because my old favorite started leaking.
