this is by far the best drive cage out there....- looks better than the picture in person- extremely well made with milled aluminum, great detail etc.- drive eject mechanism is smooth as glass and durable with metal mechanism etc.- I've run several of these in HTPC setupa for about 2 years without problem- hotswap runs perfect- nice blue / pink dual mode led lights to show power / status- standard 60mm fan on this model and 80mm on the 4 bay, so if the fan dies (which hasn't happenned yet) you can replace it yourself in about 10 minutes- with fan in low mode, almost silently keeps a full set of drives <38 at all times, so you don't need to run in the noisier high mode...- comes with sata3 cables that lock on both ends-fits in standard 5.25 bays on every case I've tried wothout any difficulty...GREAT product... enjoyPS, notes about using 'standard fans' on this productthe fan included is an 80mm but half thickness (15mm) there is one here that fits and has the correct connector and will fit inside the housing correctly: Generic GDT 35CFM 80mm x 80mm x 15mm 12v Brushless DC Cooling Fan you can either go that way or get a standard 80x25MM thick stealth fan, then there are two choices... the screws are long enough as is to seal the fan against the back of the unit without the fan cover, then connect the fan to the motherboards from fan connector which is highly cool because it gives you software control of fan speed at that point...last option is to splice the microconnector to the standard 25mm fan and have the hi/low control with the dock.I used the motherboard header with the bios control and it works awesome... and is really quiet.

It does what it's designed to do. It will hold three 3.5 drives and fit on a 2bay 5.25 slot. I have a ten year old Antec NSK HTPC case; works great. My only gripe and why I would not give this item five stars, is because the fan is LOUD. The settings on the fan is already on low. Not very happy, but glad it's working.**UPDATE**The fans are really not that loud, but loud enough for a quiet office. Instead of turning it up low, I was on high settings.

These do not fit many cases such as Zalman and NEXT had to buy another product

One of screws broke right off the bat so construction is poor -2 stars but if you don't use it too often it should hold up well. Speeds are good and temperature never goes above 38c under full load for 7K400 Ultrastars.Overall 3/5 but would be 5/5 if it was made better.

This thing is awesome. I'd say it's very solid, but not indestructible. If you use something like an Icy Dock 2.5" to 3.5" enclosure with sharp square edges, take time to line it up before you start pushing. Regular drives, no problems. I replaced the original fan right away. Too noisy for me, even at lowest setting. Installed a quality, silent fan. Much, much better. I like this cage and I'd buy it again.

The simplicity blew me away. Up and running fast.Excellent product but I recommend Startech brand for it's electronics over this one if it is cheaper.I know Startech well. They've been around for 20+ years now. I took a chance on this brand.This is not a disappointment at all. IDENTICAL rebrand with the Startech I mentioned. Differing possibly with better electronics (maybe!) with Startech over this particular branding.Go with this if it's cheaper. Startech model (again it looks the same) if it is cheaper.

It's good. Sturdy feeling. Fits very well. What I don't like is the noise of the fan. I disconnected mine entirely. But you can install a new one easily enough. Takes a small 2-pin header.

Excellent! no problems with this buy. love the hot swap ability.
