The media could not be loaded.  Doing puzzles is one of the new hobbies I developed during the pandemic, and this is the first time I tried the wooden jigsaw puzzle. I have to say I'm hooked! It is incredibly fun putting together those unique shaped pieces and each piece is perfectly flawless! I assembled this one in two days to relax from work. It was appropriately challenging and not as difficult as it looks. Very easy to sort as it has lots of varying colors, patterns, and details. I definitely recommend this puzzle to anyone who's looking for a way to relax after a long day!

The media could not be loaded.  In January 2021, I ordered my first small wooden puzzle with uniquely-shaped pieces. I fell in love with it and I am now completely obsessed with this style of puzzle. I've now expanded my collection to over 150!It is difficult to describe the quality of this puzzle without actually handling the pieces yourself. They are constructed from a strong, thick wood and the paint job is impeccable. This puzzle comes with numerous custom pieces in recognizable shapes. The puzzle itself is quite small, but it is far more challenging than you would expect from a 223-piece puzzle. Puzzles with uniquely-shaped pieces are actually more difficult than traditional puzzles. That being said, it is still only 223 pieces, so it isn't much of a challenge and only takes a couple of hours to complete. I ordered this puzzle for its beauty and not the challenge of completing it.It is important to understand that this type of puzzle does not always have interlocking pieces. With some puzzles of this style, the pieces fit together in very unusual ways and you need to place each piece with great precision. It takes a very steady hand for puzzles like this to not fall apart while you are trying to assemble them, and it is not possible to move the puzzle once completed without destroying it. With other puzzles of this style, you don't need quite as steady of a hand and the puzzles can be carefully moved/slid across a table without completely falling apart. This puzzle falls into the latter category. It can easily be slid into a new position if you are careful.This style of puzzle is normally packaged in a beautiful wooden box and this one is no exception. I'm storing the puzzle in a glass jar with a bamboo lid, so that it matches my other puzzles. I print out a photo of each puzzle I complete and glue it to the lid of a jar, then add a coat of shellac over the top to seal it. I do this so that I can display all of my small wooden puzzles in a uniform manner.

The puzzle was fun and challenging for the family and we were all looking forward to the satisfaction of fitting the last piece. Alas, it was not to be, to our profound disappointment! Giftable? I think not. Sturdiness? Well, it would’ve been studier with all the pieces present. Value? Not so much- that’s why I only rated it 2 stars. If it came with the missing piece, it would have been 5 stars. Such a shame! So much wasted potential!

These are made specifically for adults, but my 15 year old loved doing it with me, and he actually was better at it than I was. It does come with a shape map so if you are having trouble you could refer to that. I actually thought that the shapes were easier to figure out because they were so unique. I am going to order more of these. They are beautiful, fun and challenging!

I am so addicted to these irregularly-shaped wooden puzzles that I get all the ones that are offered to me for review. But even I have to admit that this helmet-wearing gorilla design is quite ugly. Still, it is very entertaining to put together (takes about 3 hours), the wooden pieces are sturdy and brightly colored.

What a fun image for a wooden puzzle! The colors are so vibrant and beautiful. The pieces come in a wooden box wrapped in burlap and is of decent thickness. The entire image is on the front of the box also included is a cheat sheet. There was a good amount of adorable animal whimsies! Unfortunately I did have one piece that came broken and that was the Camel whimsy. It’s not noticeable until I flip the puzzle over. This wasn’t difficult to put together and took me a couple hours.
