Keep Calm and Color -- Tranquil Trees Coloring Book (Dover Adult Coloring Books) Paperback – June 20, 2016

Coloring pictures are very detailed. Nice variety. Small spaces to be colored in if you do each little section so you will need sharp colored pencils. I don't think you could use crayons.

This coloring book is this best one Ive gotten. Its got 36 different small pictures and over 10 different 2 page pictures. Very unique and whimsical designs.

The media could not be loaded.  I was very surprised to see that this new book by Dover Publishing was printed on both sides of the page. Further, the pages are not perforated. Given the success of their Creative Haven and Sparks lines and their new Escapes line, I would have thought they would understand that printing on one side of the page with perforated pages is generally thought to be a good thing. For me, the publishing aspect of this line of books (Keep Calm & Color) is a huge step back. I purchased only one of three new books in this line and will probably not purchase the other two based on how they were printed.The designs are actually a reprint of a French book from 2015, “Ma Pause Nature A Colrier – Arbres de Vie” by Rustica Editions. That doesn't bother me as many international artists are now finding US publishing groups to make their books available in the US. For me, that's a great thing and I have a number of coloring books that fall into that category.The designs are tree-related but with imaginative twists. Most of the designs are single page designs but there are a number which spread across two pages. Some of the two-page designs don't line up extremely well in my book. Be prepared – there are a lot of leaves in this book. That makes sense as it is about trees but there are lot of them and I wanted to mention it specifically.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the page:62 pages of tree-inspired designsDesigns are printed on both sides of the page10 Designs spread across two pagesPaper is medium weight, white, slightly rough and non-perforatedGlue BoundAlcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based makers bleed through in spots with this paperGel pens and India ink artist pens leave colorful shadows on the back of the pageColored pencils work well with this paper. It has a decent amount of texture to it and both wax and oil based pencils lay good nice pigment, layer and blend well. Hard lead pencils can dent/score through to the back of the page.

The pages are pretty durable. I will coat with a medium when I use water soluble media, but it holds up very well for colored pencils. I color for fun so the line art on the pages is just right for me: not too busy, but not too simple either. My only criticism is that I wish the art was only on one side of the page. But I just bought a 2nd book in case I want to cut something out. Very nice book, especially for the price!

The illustrations are nice, but the drawings don't have any margin and go into the fold of the spine and to the edge of the paper. The paper is not perforated. The paper is thin, so pens and markers bleed thru. The bleeding wouldn't be bad if the paper wasn't two sided, but as it is now, you are ruining the drawing on the other side of your paper. It would be nice with one sided, thicker papers, larger margins, and if each page was perforated to easily remove. I suppose if you only plan to use crayons and pencils and didn't care to keep the pages when done, it would be ok, but I mostly use pens/markers and I like to keep the ones that turn out nice.

Amazing fun. Love the ideas. Each page has the right amount of need for color. I can color a page without getting bogged down and tired.

This is a lovely varied book of trees with the opportunity to use lots of different colors and small details if one wishes.

Person is inside a lot, disabled, so the books a very good therapy for my friend.

Happy with the purchase. Arrived as stated. The tree drawings are very beautiful. The drawings are on both sides of the pages.

Nice book but pity the presentation isn’t a priority. The pages are all stuck together and the cut of the pages at the top of the book is very rough.
