Useless
This arrived at my door very quickly - shipping was great! Useless because it comes with zero instructions. An hour of searching the net and following the links has resulted in zero help on how to operate. I did find the owner's manual online rather quickly, but the information contained in it, was pretty vague. I have high hopes for this thing and hope to come back in and update the review. But so far, useless....

Had I known this was the zhiyun smooth II with kumbacams logo, I could have saved some money
The only thing that got me here was their marketing, but after purchasing and using the device - it uses the electronics of the Zhiyun smooth c-II (it's labeled on the device) Had I known that it was the exact same, I would have saved my money and purchased the zhiyun model for considerably less money. However, the unit itself is very easy to use and very smooth. I even went on to purchase the zhiyun crane for my mirrorless camera.

Premium price? Yes. Premium quality? Absolutely yes.
You can read my full 1400 word review (and watch video clips I shot with/without the stabilizer) here: smartphonestabilizer.com. Here's the abbreviated version: if you're looking for an iPhone gimbal that will make your footage look smooth as whipped butter, this is it. Period.I'm talking sweet cream butter smooth. Yes, it's expensive. But compared to other smartphone stabilizers, KumbaCam is superior. Here's why:1. Better construction. KumbaCam made this model with aircraft-grade aluminum. It's lightweight but not cheap; heavy but not cumbersome. The same thing goes for the smartphone clamp. It's sturdy, fits snug on my device and gives me peace of mind. I know my phone won't fly off the clamp while running or doing other high-intensity activities while filming. Even the box was great. It reminds me of the packaging Apple uses that's so high-quality you feel bad throwing it out!2. Less parts. Other units come with way too much stuff to keep track of. Screws, different size clamps, loose batteries, chargers, etc. I love this unit because there's no assembly required. You can take it out of the box and use it. Plus it's less of a pain to recharge (just plug in the USB, no popping out batteries and chargers). You can even use a portable power bank.3. Better battery life. The iKan gimbal has a 2-3 hour battery life. The LanParte has a 3-4 hour battery life. The KumbaCam can go up to 7 hours on one charge depending upon the intensity of use. Plus the controls are more fluid and tactile. There is one improvement I'd like to see in their next model though. Absence of this feature isn't worth docking a star over, it's simply an addition that would make it even better: a GoPro accessory mount (LanParte's smartphone stabilizer has one on the top of the wand) An accessory like this shines best during action shots. Would love to be able to strap this to a helmet or set of handlebars. That would make it perfect. Nevertheless, five stars all the way!
